NYT Shell-Shocked By Historic Jobs Numbers: We Ran Out Of Words To Describe How Good It Is

You can’t polish a turd. You can’t spin incontrovertibly good news. That’s what The New York Times admitted in their headline about these job numbers. They ran out of words synonymous with good concerning this news:

Instead of a sign that says "Do Not Disturb" I need one that says "Already Disturbed Proceed With Caution."

Not everyone is thrilled...for some reason. You have people like this Democrat leader trying to stink up the turd...

If it's good for America then it's bad for the minority party, no matter who is currently the minority party.

Having said that, Pelosi is the absolute best (or worst) example of what Crony Capitalism creates in a society.

Do her points make one bit of sense as they relate to the topic of Jobs Report? Context man.

Her context differs from yours, you brought her into this. As a wise man just said, good news for one party is never good news for the minority party, especially in our current political environment. For the record, that wise man was also correct about Pelosi.

Wouldn't have brought her up if not for her position and extreme point of view. Her context differs from reality. The news should be non-partisan, and as the Minority Leader she stepped up to squash the news with unfactual jibberish and demeaning commentary. It's another example of always taking the contrarian road if it has a certain individuals thumbprint. It's embarassing that she still says she is focused on the middle class, wages, and creating jobs. Whether you are Dem or Rep, this woman needs to be relegated to defunct Representative.

So since the minority is not happy with the one party,
The one party is constantly being attacked by the minority
Because the minority lost at the chance to be the one party
So is this called a hissy fit

Nancy Pelosi is the gift that keeps on giving for the GOP. The only thing I feel sorry for more than her are people who actually believe what she says.

The Democratic party hasn't ran on a legit platform in over a decade..they have no platform..it's just race card tactics and name calling. People are finally starting to figure that out.

That's why their party fails election after election..people are sick of it, hell you can't even watch ESPN without that crap and it's ruined late night TV.

To all the Liberals and Democrats..what is your party's platform and why should America vote for y'all? .and Go.. please explain your platform and plan.

Right, the things she wants for us, low healthcare costs, lower gas prices, and low prescription drug prices, are all good things but they don't mean much if you ain't got a job.

Unemployment has been low enough that wages started increasing since mid 2016. This is a trend that isn't really the doing of any particular president; Obama and Trump deserve equal credit if anything, but most of the causes are beyond the control of both of them.

I do think it's fair to blame Trump for Rising gas prices, because his sabre-rattling with Iran has certainly made this worse.

I'd be interested to get the numbers for how much wages are going up compared to how much prescription drug prices and Healthcare in general are going up.

It may be that nobody has those numbers right now but it's more likely that Pelosi has them and the fact that she didn't specifically include them in her statement indicate that they are not in favor of her argument.

Gas prices have to be up to not depend on east oil
American oil does cost more
However it makes the economy have more jobs
Jobs mean more houses and more lumber and more oil
That makes more jobs

Wages are up, and we can't play the Obama & Trump card when the ceos guiding new levels of domestic investment are directly crediting the new tax/regulatory structure.

That's not true.
Domestic energy got significantly cheaper starting in the early 2010s because of fracking.
We use the least expensive energy available.
Coal is heavy and natural gas has to be stored at extremely low temperatures or extremely high pressures. But oil can easily be shipped around the world at standard temperature and pressure. It can easily be poured from a barrel that says "Made in Iran" to a barrel that says "Made in Saudi Arabia."
If oil is the least expensive energy available, we will use oil from the country that produces it at the least expense regardless of if we like that country or not.
Our economy is indeed benefiting from the extremely cheap Natural Gas. And our economy would also benefit if internationally we were the least expensive producer of oil. But there has been no direct effort from our government to avoid using mid East energy. Obama doesn't deserve credit for the economy of fracking any more than Al Gore deserved credit for the internet. In both cases those who took risks employing smart people to work many years perfecting those things, with little to no short-term return, deserve the credit. But Trump doesn't deserve any credit for this kind of thing either.

Can YOU expand on the part(opinion) about trump not being responsible for good things happening in the trade sector pertaining to oil
Is there and links to this projection

Certain CEOs who hope for special favors may say flattering things like that.  Certainly the National Retailers Association is happy that restaurant and retail managers will never ever get overtime wages for their 50-60 hour weeks... But really no other of the new or blocked regulations changes the economy significantly enough to be reflected in the unemployment figures.  Even preventing retail managers on salary from being able to collect overtime wages probably didn't lower unemployment.
