Covers

Reviving an old thread, I love chancing upon covers of old songs I like. This one struck a sad nerve that was raw as I pondered recent losses. Enjoy, and post favorites of yours.

Being both a Motorhead and Bowie fan, I always liked this one.

Herbie Hancock, John Scofield and Michael Brecker doing Don Henley's New York Minute and some other hip covers.
I actually attended this performance.

So good. I read a quote from Aretha Franklin when her producer pondered who to get for a slide guitar part in a song they were recording. She said "Get that white cat". Nobody had to ask who she meant.

I noticed J.J. Grey's nod to the significance of this version of Hey Jude in his show.

I've always thought this cover was better than the original.

Agreed. It's a great cover. I honestly didn't know it was a Nine Inch Nails song until well after his death. I also like his cover of Sting's "I Hung My Head". He did a cover of the Eagle's "Desperado" and although it's not my favorite cover of his it's still a unique version of the song.
