This.

I put this in a different category than the Ray Buchanon hit that ended Tavian Banks' career (ironically also against the Falcons).

Buchanon had the choice to go high or low, or actually not hit him at all since he was already out of bounds.  He went knee hunting.

Now, if you don't go low, you risk a penalty.

I think the new rules have made it almost impossible to tackle a fast moving target.

The hit on Fabian Banks was unnecassary. He was literally out of bounds when he was hit.  Never forget how good #22 could have been.  Banks, out of Michigan State was a terrific 3rd down back.  He never came back from that knee injury.

It's horrible when an NFL player suffers a major injury. It's that much more difficult from a fan perspective when it happens in a pre-season game.

I hope Marqise Lee beats the odds with his recovery, both in terms of effectiveness and time of recovery.

What are we expected to blame all the other knee-capping low hits of the past on? It's absurd to blame the new rule when this kind of crap has been going on for decades. Diving in on the knee is cheap, dirty football.

The hit on Marqise Lee's knee is NOTHING NEW. The hit was made because the NFL has failed to BAN IT.

It's the same brand of dirty football once coached by the likes of Jeff Fisher and Gregg Williams. We didn't call them the Tennessee Knee-Cappers for nothing.

Terrible news, but unfortunately, it was expected. It looked really nasty.
