Sounds about right value wise.

Seems like a good spot for him. Brees can't have too many years left.

Guess this means Darnold is going to start.

Good move for NO. Perfect spot for Teddy to keep developing

Leaves the Saints with no 1st round pick or 3rd pick

Teddy's only on a one year deal so it doesn't help them at all unless Brees gets hurt. Basically gave a 3rd rounder in case of a Nick Foles situation. Not very smart of them to be so short sighted, and I say that as one of Teddy's biggest supporters.

I would imagine the idea is to trade and extend....

Then just wait and sign for no draft compensation after the year. Kind of shoots a hole in their supposed love for Taysom Hill also.

Honestly they're probably just going to keep him as a top backup option this year and let him sign somewhere else next year and get the comp pick. He'll probably get them a pretty high one too. I'd bet he gets a bigger contract than Fowler for example.

I can just imagine Teddy standing on the side of the road holding a bag watching rhe bus drive away.

I was shocked by the trade. Not because Bridgewater was traded, but because it was the Saints. I really thought they were high on Taysom Hill. I also thought the Raiders would go after him hard. They have nothing behind Derek Carr. It seemed like a steep price to pay for the Saints to acquire a backup QB for 1 year. You'd have to think an extension is in the works to make Teddy the heir-apparent to Drew Brees. If not, this deal makes no sense.
