It was helmet to helmet though......not intentional at all and an impossible play to make without hitting his helmet but technically it is still helmet to helmet

Absolutely bogus. What was he supposed to do, slam his own head into the ground to keep the receiver from hitting him helmet to helmet?

Then you agree it's a bad rule?

when will everyone learn Jags have to beat thier oppents, and the refs. The refs won't give Jacksonville the calls. Afterall last season we had more pentlys called on us then the browns did whe we played them. Rember browns had 0 pentlys. Jags had a bunch that game. no offensse intended to browns.

I don't get how these guys are supposed to hit with their shoulder pads without lowering their head. It's like all they can do is arm tackles.
Here we go again

Was frustrating but based on the new rule, probably should have been flagged. Gotta keep your head up.

Telvin even turned his head away to try and avoid contact with it and lead with his shoulder, which he did... If the the receiver doesn't drop his head there's no helmet to helmet contact. It's a joke.

The goal is to have high octane offensive football, so the rules are all geared to make it harder to play defense.

Yup, sadly.

This is it in a nutshell and it wasn't helmet to helmet imo.  He turned to the side with his head to the side, led with the shoulder.  Nothing else he could have done.  Didn't make a diff tho still kicked that patsy [BLEEP].

This is what I kept telling my husband. Like- is he just supposed to detach his head? The head kind of goes where the neck and shoulders go.....

Just another smug call for the Patriots.. has to keep his Kraft money.
No pain, no gain.

Whether or not the Telvin call was truly a penalty or not, doesn't matter to me. What does matter is that these new "safety" rules are ruing the game. They simply go against the laws of physics and defensive players are being flagged for things they cannot help. There will come a time, when the NFL will be playing 2 hand touch football.

Correct call, questionable rule.

Honestly we got lucky on the laundry and they let the game keep a natural flow. Could we be disappointed in the lack of holding calls? Maybe but it was okay. Honestly I thought Ramsey was going to get a taunting flag. That probably would have happened up in New England. With the way the town is feeling, must get home field advantage. Here's to health for the rest of the year.

Telvin's helmet was in the right spot. He led with the shoulder. The ball carrier put his helmet into Telvins. The penalty should've been called on the ball carrier.

Can the rule be applied to the ball carrier though? Running backs in particular are known to lower their heads to bust through the line of scrimmage.
