What is Del Rio up to these days?

Just confused why he isn't a DC somewhere right now? I know he isn't an amazing head coach but I feel he is still a good coordinator. I just figured he would have landed somewhere as a DC by now. Haven't heard from him since he got fired as the head coach with the Raiders.

He has taken up residence in the great northwest where he's learning the lumberjack trade.

My searching has found he is currently unemployed.
However, he was just a HC last season. Upon being fired, he likely has to wait until more coaching changes happen at the end of this season for someone to take a flyer on him.

I could see him becoming DC again in 2019
But perhaps he's waiting until USC HC job opens up

If Wash got a HC gig, I wouldn't be opposed to callin in Jack.
Though I think we'd likely promote from within.

all the coaches he has fired over the years have probably blacklisted him.
Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17
2016 draft players I think will be good
  • On the Fournette train, will be best back of his class 3/6/17
  • Lattimore please,  Lockdowns on both sides would be nice
  • Engram at TE and the MJD clone Samaje Perine

Think they can do that from beneath that bus they got thrown under?
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Yes yes. Usually head coaches who are relieved of their duties take the next season off before finding more duties. He's probably still getting paid anyway.

I wonder if he helps manage his kids Twitter hahaha... LDR is way vicious. Way better at Twitter flame throwing than pigskin throwing.

Or more likely he is sitting at home getting paid a HC salary for being fired. He has never been one to put in the long hours, so why would you think he would work when he got fired from another HC position and is still getting paid?

Imagine the resentment he must feel toward Gruden and the Raiders right now. He was all ready to lead them into Las Vegas and become Gamblin' Jack, King of the Strip. Can't you just picture it- Hollywood Jack with the shades and the flowing hair rippling in the desert breeze, rolling into casinos and being the toast of the town.

Now he's just...toast.
Season Ticket holder since 2004. Smile
