Blake is never going to consistently hit a cover 2 honey hole the traditional back shoulder 9 route way, but they ran a lot of post corner and deep crosser routes from the slot today and Blake was able to take his time and see them open and take his time with his mechanics to hit it.

It was basically the cover 2 beater version of what makes Blake successful with shallow crosser patterns (which we did plenty of also). Good adjustment.

They did this a ton last year with Lee and sometimes Cole.   Good to see Westbrook and Blake getting on the same page with it now.

Glad it was back in mix today.

They did a lot of deep crossers in December last year yeah, but I don't think any of those were against a cover 2. I've never seen a gameplan predicated on attacking cover 2 beaters with inside out intermediate routes and mid/deep crossers. It was very unique and creative given Bortles skill set.

Teams don't play much cover 2 anymore (I think the Colts are the only team that plays base cover 2 right now) but we're not a typical offense for today's NFL, so it'll be interesting to see if teams continue to use it against us or revert back to a standard cover 3/1 since we've shown we can adjust.

The jets linebackers weren't dropping back as deep as the titans because we were able to hurt them with the short throws.

The titans LBs were able to play back enough to make the cover two beater routes nearly impossible to complete last week.

I didn't mean the seam cover 2 beaters. I mean the outside the numbers 15-20 yarders Blake hit a bunch of today.
