After 25% of the season the Jags defense is number 1 in several Categories

#1

#1 Overall defense

#1 Against the Pass

#1 redzone Defense

#1 in Points per game

#1 yards per game alllowed

Note that there isn't a single player leading in any category but it's a whole team effort.  This defense is very very special.

WE aren't get the turnovers we did last year tho. Thats about the only thing that has disappointed.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

They are sitting back more and making teams beat them down the whole field. It allows some more yards and leads to less turnovers, but it's really hard to beat this team by throwing underneath and not making any mistakes while going 75-80 yards.

Then the offense has played ok/well for 3 games, which helps keep teams off the field and having to throw.

Defense has only given up 4 TDs in 4 games.

Next lowest is the Redskins with 6, but they've only played 3 games.

I think it's just a matter of time before the turnovers start coming. They should of had at least 3 INTs this past Sunday.

If not for the turnovers on Sunday, we had a really good chance for a shutout.

The sacks and turnovers are down but so are the long runs and big plays we gave up last year.
No pain, no gain.

Pressures > sacks
turnovers will come... they 'had' 3 last weekend, ya know?
Another young QB this weekend... I feel it coming.

If we keep up this defensive and offensive efficiancy then we will finish the year with home field in the AFC.

I read the second as #1 against the Pats. Which is probably also true...

#1 D vs #1 offense this week, I highly doubt the Jags can hold them to 14 points which is their average. But holding them to under 25 means the Jags have a real shot at winning this game. Should be fun!

A lot of top defensive ranking but this team hasn’t been playing at their best. I want to see what happens when the aggression kicks up, penalties aren’t an issue and both sides of the ball start clickin’. Scary!

Defense is still elite. Turnovers will come. Last year, Poz made a huge difference in that category. The guy had a knack for the ball

This will be a true test of how good this defense is. The chiefs have speed and weapons all over this field. This defense has speed and playmakers all over the field.

Usually the favor is in the top defense vs the top offense. Arrowhead is a very tough place to play and that offense is on fire right now. If the Jags can hold them to 24 points or less we have a real shot. The Kc defense is real suspect.

Actually, the last 6 times the #1 Offense vs #1 Defense matched up, the Offense has gotten the better of the Defense. It's 5-1 in favor of the #1 Offense.
