Bortles throwing motion.

#61

Has any QB ever succeeded with a throwing motion like that?

Has any successful QB had a throwing motion like Rivers? A golfer like Furyk?

It's not textbook but you got to make the best out of it

Bortles is one of the bigger problems of this team. He's probably a 6-7 win QB at this rate with this improved team.

If we want to have 10+ wins consistently either he needs miraculous improvement or we need a better QB.

and it's not just the motion. The ball that comes out is not a spiral and it's not even accurate.

I'm not sure but BB is not the most cerebral QB to begin with so his mechanics need to be on point else he will continue to struggle.

Every DC we face is telling his DBs to jump on any route once he starts his motion. He needs to get with Tom House this offseason and work on it.

Why are most of his interceptions not from jumped routes then? Seems most have been from deflections off the hands of receivers.

Well he's had plenty of INTs that were jumped routes to be fair, just not this year

Well it's obviously not a big issue then...

Yeah, sort of, but not really. Leftwich had a far more pronounced rotation, and he was far slower and more deliberate with his motion. So, while Blake will get the ball back there and down low sort of like Leftwich, he's nowhere near as prone to fumbles and getting the ball knocked out like we saw him do yesterday (he was blindsided while scrambling). Blake can also escape or else buy time for his throws where Leftwich was stuck in the pocket. Byron was simply too slow to make it work. While Blake's mechanics may be similar, he's not slow like that.

Not an issue in the slightest.

Bortles career 3.3% INT rate

Favre career 3.3% INT rate

The difference is Bortles hasn't hit his prime yet at age 24.

Fixing the mechanics will help everything else. At the moment he knows they are not right so he's second guessing himself and does not seem fully confident in his arm leading to slower decision making and less 50/50 balls downfield.

Big Ben just got his throwing motion right about 2-3 years ago. I'm not worried...

Imagine if the Steelers and their fans would have given up on Big Ben after three years...

They wouldn't. The Steelers have real fans.

hahahah he uses Favre as an example.  literally the only thing similar about their games is the fact that they can be turnover happy.

Yea... except Big Ben has won a SB.

Don't compare Ben to Blake. Ben came into a great situation so he wasn't asked to do much. Blake doesn't have anyone to compare himself to.

Big Ben showed more in his rookie year than Bortles has is 2.5 years, but yes, go on..
