I remember in 2009 when we basically started off with a 3-4, and were on pace to set franchise low records on defense, in a bad way. It was basically made clear that a lot of the personnel was not meant for 3-4, wouldn’t play as well, etc, and it would take another draft or two to make it right if the jags were truly committed. The wolves howled when it wasn’t an instant turnaround. We ended up going back to 4-3 mid season against KC I believe and never looked back

Teamwork wins. Whatever it takes to light a fire inside the hearts of the players needs to occur. For me looking on from outside I think a little come to Jesus meeting needs to occur between the offense and defense where frustrations and aspirations can be aired. If I am a defensive player I would be EXPLOSIVE in my words to #5 to get his [bleeping] [bleep] together and earn his salary if being QB is “just a job.”

The Bucs are ranked 20th in the league on defense and giving up nearly 35 points a game. Easy pass.

Yeah, well look who he has on defense. Give Mike Smith all pros like Ramsey and Campbell to go along with the rest of our guys.

I could stand on the sideline and our defense would be top 5.

Oh, that's exactly how some fans think. If it works in Madden...

These ideas are great in theory, but when applied to the real world with the personnel we have in place, not so much.

Yep that was Greg Williams one and only year here. Scheme doesn’t mean squat if you don’t have the personnel to play it.
