It’s making me sad that the 3rd string QB for the 49ers looks better than our starting QB. :-(

Undrafted 3rd string QB better than Bortles.

Nick Mullens better than Bortles. Better throwing motion, throws spirals, quick confident decision maker

As I watch the 49ers 3rd string QB make perfect spiral throws hitting his receivers in stride, I'm left asking myself "why do we suck at evaluating QB talent?"

Hackett was Bortles' QB coach, that should account for something. But Henne, Brandon Allen, Leftwich, Gabbert, Lee, Bortles, etc. Why can't we hit on anyone? Who is evaluating QB talent when a pick/acquisition is made? Whoever they are, they suck.

Someone started a thread asking if we should move our starting QB to TE. That is all you need to know.

It’s maddening. How do we draft QB after QB that either has a physical deficiency (poor mechanics, footwork) or a mental one? In Bortles we hit the jackpot and got BOTH!

Lots of velocity in Mullens' throws. Looks sharp

His release is 2 seconds faster than Bortles with better velocity. He doesnt have to baseball wind up like Bortles to get maximum  velocity

I would like to take this opportunity to remind the board that Bortles is self-admittedly not a natural thrower. Why he is still our starting QB?

I'm impressed with just some basics that I see. Basics that you never see with Bortles.
