If he had been a half decent backup tackle it would make sense, but...
We already have a decent back up guard in Shatley

Shatley is our backup center.  Reed is our backup guard and Omameh is better than Reed

Shatley has started multiple games at left guard for the jaguars and he is much better than Reed IMO.
If either guard went down I’d put Shatley there before I would Reed.

Sign him, he was solid for us last year although was a weakpoint at times. Although he was a LG here for us, with Norwell set there for the foreseeable future; Omameh played RG for the Giants this year and iirc that's his natural spot historically. He already knows the system and with Cann's contract expiring in 8 games, he's probably more valuable to us than any other team. As this season has shown us, INJURIES. HAPPEN. we shouldn't pass bc we already have good interior backups, just to have 2 injuries the next game and then Omameh is signed elsewhere and is now unavailable.

If he's willing to come for cheap we could do way worse lol (keep in mind he's still getting paid the guaranteed money from the Giants contract he signed)

Sign him as depth to compete this year, and then pencil him in at RG going into next season.
Championship Formula:

1) Draft Trevor Lawrence!
2) Play good physical Defense!
3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy!
4) ???
5) Blank #2
6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Cann missed games this year and they started Reed over Shatley.  Reeds also listed as a backup guard on the jags depth chart.  Because me and you feel Shatley is better and would start him over Reed it doesnt mean the coaches would, as we seen when Cann was out. I feel like Kessler should get the start over Bortles this week but I doubt Doug makes the change at QB

He's a big upgrade over Reed, so why not?

I’m honestly not trying to go against the grain, but I think Reed is way better than him. Reed is really good at pulling and he can get out there on screens with no troubles. I think Reed is upgradable for sure. But they aint that far apart.

I’m short, I would bring him back on the low just for insurance.

Remember that game that Reed started? He was the guy standing there holding a stop sign as defenders nailed running backs behind the line of scrimmage.

It looks like the disappointing play of Patrick Omameh by itself isn't the only reason the Giants decided to release him. The Giants added draft picks last month in the Eli Apple and Damon 'Snacks' Harrison trades. They appear to be in a full rebuild mode:

My guess is Omameh will be on an NFL roster sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I think they will pick him up. He already knows the system so there won't be any learning curve.

Linder bein on IR makes this even more of a logical signing

QFT.  The guy knows the system and he can slide in and play right away.  With as fast as we are losing lineman it helps to have guys that are up to speed QUICK.

Yes. It would make sense at his point to bring him back 'round.

Now if Dave would only listen to all of us a little more....
we'd have things fixed in no time.
