Nice!

Wouldn't that be a good way for it to play out?

I actually prefer the CBS website draft content to most of the others.  It changed a bit last year, but Rob Rang and Brugler put out some good snippets on players and tend to have a sensical collective big board. Of course this particular mock is from Trapasso. I don't know him as well as the other guys writing there.

EDIT:

Dang, it looks like Rang and Brugler both moved on from CBS.  I enjoyed their draft coverage.

Lots of draft analysts seem  to have moved.  Mayock is now Raiders GM.

Rang and Brugler have moved on from CBS.

Is anyone else having issues pulling up draftbreakdown.com?

I'd love this.

I never liked Rang, but Brugler is one of my faves. I instantly like whoever this is for giving us Haskins too haha, though I know it's near impossible we stay put and also wind up with him.

I like both of those guys, actually.

Wouldn't it be great if we were able to stay at 7 and still get our QB?

I can imagine being on pins and needles on draft day yelling at the TV with each pick for them to deal up to get their guy, and being absolutely elated that every QB is on the board at our pick.

Of course I can also imagine the individual and collective rage among Jaguars fans if the team went in another direction/position.   Laughing

Can you imagine the fallout if the Jags don't draft a QB in the first or second round?
(assuming they don't sign a tier-one FA)

I just made a thread where I speculate a nightmare scenario where we end up without a QB this year and next year!

The nausea percolates just thinking about that one!

If we don't wind up with Haskins I don't really want a QB. Well, I'd be happy with Tyree Jackson as a developmental QB that is never counted on to be the guy...but I don't want to settle for Lock/Jones/Grier just cause we feel we HAVE to make a move.

The Modis building would be so crowded....for a minute or two.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised.

In fact, I'd expect to see more of Grier "rising" from his early round 2 projection to mid first rounder, pending on what he does come Senior bowl and combine/pro days.

I’m starting to see more of these with us getting Haskins staying put at 7. There’s a noticeable portion of #GiantsTwitter that wants to address other needs with #6 too

That's my expectation as well.

If you're a Jags fan eyeballing Grier in the second round you have to consider the 'skins at #15, the raiders at #24 plus the raiders have an anticipated comp pick at the end of the first round. As do the pats and bolts.
Then in the second there's the giants and raiders again picking ahead of you.

It would be a minor miracle for Grier to be there at #38. It's possible of course, but it would be a big roll of the dice if the f.o. was really sold on him.  You're going to have to sit through at least seven potential opportunities for him to be selected while you wait on 38 to come around.

I think for Grier to be available in the 2nd Haskins, Lock, Jones and Murray are all taken in the first. (NYG, OAK, WAS, DEN) While we pass on QB for OL or DL.....
And if we do that with Haskins or Murray available, people will lose their collective [BLEEP]. (I won't)

It certainly will be interesting to see how the boards start changing after the guys are all declared and the combine happens.
And come draft day, who is the savvy GM that makes the move for the right guy... or slides back and gets the best guy....
