Dante Fowler speaks
|
From SI MMQB:
Quote:”After I tore my ACL I feel like they gave up on me going into my next training camp,” Fowler says. “These three years I was trying to prove to them I was a guy they could trust, and I was trying to be the guy they drafted me to be. But I never got a chance to start a game. When it’s all said and done, I feel like they gave up on me. https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/01/28/super-...gn=themmqb

You got outplayed by a third round pick.
Plus you had off the field issues. That is why they gave up on you.

Lol. One of the biggest headcases throwing a fit about being on the bench, then pointing others out as lacking humility.
He basically admits he was the problem. He wanted to be handed the job. He was pissed so he didn't buy into the team working together.
Then it's fine that he's not starting. He's buying in to being a backup once he is on a winning team again. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk

He sounds like he's so mad he could punch someone and throw their groceries in a lake.
I know that many of use don't particularly like Fowler because he didn't show motivation here, but just because of that does not mean that he is wrong about the rest of the team losing their focus in 2018. It is basically what most of the posters on here said all season.
How can Fowler say they gave up on him after tearing his ACL when they fully guaranteed his contract afterward?!
Everything looks better when you’re winning. Of course he’s going to say that; he’s playing in the Super Bowl and next to the best DL in the league no less. He would’ve said the same thing no matter where he was sent if it ended with him in the Super Bowl.

He did say "we weren't humble about it" he did include himself in there too and he's not wrong.
No Fun
The only thing missing from the 2018 Jaguars was an “Uh Oh” 2.0 song.
Like Fowler or not I think his assessment is spot on. Once they beat the Patriots they got cocky then blown out. What a wasted year.
"I'm not mad, I'm proud of you. You took your first pinch like a man and you learn two great things in your life. Look at me, never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut." - Jimmy Conway
He's not wrong. I still don't miss him though. He was, whether he likes it or not, a part of the issues going on in the locker room.
I hope he's happy with whatever team he plays for in the future - be it the Rams or somebody else. I just don't feel sorry for him in the slightest.
He was very much a part of a problem creating the culture that he's trying to critique now. He got drastically outperformed by Yannick, yet continually moaned and complained about how he deserved to start and play more simply because he was drafted too high.

He's right about that last bit. The whole whining about being on the bench thing? I don't wanna hear it. You're either miscast, unwilling to be trained to fill the role or learn the craft, and that's why you're not starting. Just because you are a top pick doesn't entitle you to start, get extra attention in camp, or any of that junk.
This sounds like a lot of sour grapes, too. Something tells me if we held on to him, and gave him another contract, he would be singing the praises of the FO and coaching staff.
Look at me everyone! I am finally having a LITTLE success on a D-Line consisting of Donald and Suh! Glad to see that #3 pick talent really shining through.
Change of scenery has done him some good. You havent heard about the boneheaded stuff he did here so far in LA. I also dont think they gave up on him but his role was reduced significantly. It does seem like they shuffled him to the back when at times he was the only person to get a sack a game or provide some energy when in the game.
If you think I offended you, don't worry, I meant to. #facts

On one hand, I want the Patriots to get stomped.
On the other hand, I don’t want Fowler to win anything. The Sandlot would call this a pickle. |
