I saw an interview with him about 10 years ago and he was absolutely addled. He looked as if someone had pulled him off the street, pushed his hair over to one side with a wet rag and borrowed a suit jacket from Goodwill to drape over him. Structuring a complete sentence was difficult. His voice was raspy due to an injury suffered in a car accident a few years previous. When the interviewer asked him about the accident, he replied 'What accident? I don't remember an accident.' Life was not good for Jan-Michael Vincent.

Yeah, he was a troubled dude with some unhealthy habits according to everything I've read.

I remember him best from the surf flick "Big Wednesday" and there was also another in which he played a thief involved in a plot twist double-cross. Can't recall the title.
