It would be saying, 'you have 4 years to earn $88M and the possibility of earning many more millions in performance incentives before the new sheriff comes to town'.

By the end of 4 years, you would already have to think about giving Haskins a new contract. He'd be an UFA after his 5th year option. I believe it would be telling Foles that he has 2 years, maybe 3 max to get the job done or he is gone. I believe there is an "out" on his contract after the 2nd year. I'm certainly not against it, since I believe Haskins is gonna be a star QB, but it would basically be pulling the rug out from Foles.

Yes, very true. However, he's a professional. I'm sure he would have a full understanding of the situation and wouldn't allow it to affect his play.

Nobody knows how it will play out...but what we do know is the Jaguars designed the contract to serve as a 2 year or 3 year deal.  

They didn't sign this deal thinking Foles is gonna be our franchise QB for the next 5 years , just that he gives is security for two seasons and then we'll see how things go

I think Haskins falls out of the Top 15. I think he’s highly overrated. It took me awhile to get to that conclusion, but I’d pass on him even reading down into the 20’s.
