I agree, we do deserve better. Obama using the justice department as political weaponry is dangerous.

You say that as though he's the only President to do so. Remember CREEP? Remember McCarthy? Those were both Republicans who used the government to go after their political enemies, and if you think the Bushes, Clinton and Trump haven't done/aren't doing the same thing, I have some oceanfront property in Kansas for you.

No one's ever done this before. This isn't just surveillance of debate prep or picking up a campaign schedule. This is intelligence laundering Russian propaganda for a defacto cous de ta.

They'll say all the platitudes "higher loyalty" "reasonable suspicion" etc. This was an attempt by the elite to insure against an election result and disenfranchise 63 million americans.

The crazy thing is the historic accomplishments the Trump administration has managed to accomplish during this. The next POTUS will put back in perspective just how good Trump was. It's easy to take a good economy for granted. Be careful what you wish for.

Are you one of Hannity's staff writers? Well done - just the right tone of drama queeness.

All these claims. All the ohmygod, ohmygod. No proof, no facts. And all the claims in summer of 2016 how Hillary should be investigated!

The President has very little real control over unemployment and inflation.  Trump's actual policy changes have been minimal.  Very little has gotten done in Congress, even when Republicans had both houses. The only positive he's accomplished is the judge appointments, but even there, he could have done better. Kavanaugh was a political operative for longer than he was a judge. There were better, equally conservative, resumes to choose from.

Since you mention Hillary, prime example that plays into what jj just stated. She did, in fact, break the law, but her elitist status swept it under the rug. Pay to play, right? Speaking of, nah, you wouldn't believe them facts either.

In Trump's case, both the corporate tax cut (congress was needed hereand the elimination of Obama-era regulations have had a significant positive effect on the job market. His trade wars have had a negative effect of the stock markets, but that should be a short term effect. Obama's regulations slowed the recovery, while the negative prime rate (by a presidential appointee) boosted the stock marketSo yeah, while the economy mainly controls itself (until the socialists take over and turn the US into Venezuela), the president can have some real control.

Love your desire for selective enforcement. Not hypocritical at all. Spent all summer of 2016 pretending to care about high crimes and misdemeanors (Lock Her Up!) and here you are with all kinds of crimes - with real Russians - and not a peep. And you wonder why you're not taken seriously.

HDS indeed.

I truly wish the House would make the Impeachment move, if only so that folks like you would get your shot and we can move on once you lose.  But Nancy knows ya'll got nothin' and, sad to say, is the most astute person on your side trying to save you from yourselves.

Notice how these liberals are trying to rebrand TDS because they are incapable of coming up with  an original thought on their own?

people smarter than both of us have analyzed where the money that corporations saved from the tax cut went.
Almost none of it went to payrolls.
Unemployment was already very low.

All I'm saying is that the President's control of the economy today is very small - like a 5 or 10% effect at best.  15% to of 20%  the economy is in the government's hands, however, realistically the President can't touch or change most of that. 80 to 90% of the control of how well the economy does rests with the big banks, the big corporations, and people like you and me who might have new ideas.

Here's the thing: if you want to give the president more credit than just that, you should be consistent about it.
You can say that Reagan or Trump did a good job for this reason,
But then you have to say that Bush 41 did a bad job,
And that Bill Clinton did a good job,
And that Bush 43 also did a bad job,
And that Obama cleaned up his mess.

You have to give the Democratic party a perfect, 100% score for presidents after 1980, and mark down the Republicans with a 50% score at best, if you choose to score presidents based on how the economy does while they are in office.
So I hope you can see that my approach to this question is more sensible.

41 shouldn't have raised taxes
Clinton was pushed to economic success by Gingrich and the CWA
43 tried to fix the housing crisis but was rebuffed by the Congress, then we went to war
Obama held back the economy for nearly 7 years with his [BLEEP] policies
Trump had to push his own damn party to move

I give you minus -1000 for your foolishness.

The economy was faltering before Bush 41 agreed to raise taxes.
The only policy change Gingrich extracted from Bill Clinton was welfare reform.  It was good but I don't think you're going to explain all the success of the Clinton years as being a product of welfare reform.
You say Obama's regulations held the economy back.  I assume that's fixed now with Trump.  Which regulation was it?
