It's Official - Pitt is Back (Retro Colors)
|
Pitt has officially gone back to its original colors. Finally got rid of the dull navy and gold.

I remember several years ago when they tried to make people stop calling them Pitt and wanted to be called University of Pittsburgh.
That didn't last long. ![]()
Correct. Pittsburgh is turning into a high tech city specializing in medicine, robotics, etc. and contains a lot of good colleges in the area (including Carnegie Mellon & Pitt). The President at the time tried to rebrand Pitt to get away from slang and changed the colors to almost mirror Notre Dame (in attempt to appear more sophisticated). Unfortunately, in conducting the changes, he also turned his back on history and the desires of the students and fanbase. Hopefully, this will help to revive the pride as they pretty much hit rock bottom with their former President and AD.
Anyway, that's it for now. Hopefully, the next Dan Marino, Tony Dorsett, Larry Fitzgerald, Aaron Donald, Darrell Revis, Hugh Green, Russ Grimm, Bill Fralic, and Mark May are out there somewhere. Pitt's all time team listed below.
