He had a higher YPC and a much higher TD rate. He was also just as good of a blocker and even though Hock is a very good athlete, he's still considerably worse than Kittle athletically.

Funny to compare them as a prospect.  Kittle went 5th round, TJ will most likely be a top 10 pick.  As good a blocker Kittl was he was not the blocker TJ is or the pass catcher.  TJ also won the award for the best TE in college.  I don't ever remember you beating the table for Kittle in the 1st.  A lot of us wanted Kittle but not in the first or 2nd, if people thought he was a top 5 prospect in the draft they would of wanted him in the 1st.  It's not rocket science

Why wouldn't you compare them as prospects? They're extremely similar. Same college, great athletes, complete blocking and receiving. In fact, I would almost guarantee a large part of why Hock is getting so much hype is directly because Kittle has set fire to the NFL, and Hock profiles strikingly similarly to that.

And yeah I was absolutely pounding the table for Kittle in the 2nd. I wanted OJ Howard in the first but once it was clear we were screwing up by taking Fournette I was all in on Kittle. It's not his fault the NFL goofed and couldn't look at the individual traits instead of the lacking body of work.

Hindsight 20/20 for you  when you try to say how good a prospect is now after seeing what they can do on a NFL field.  This is one if the dumbest conversations I've had with you.  As much as all of us liked Kittle he isn't the prospect TJ is, 1 drafted in the 5th round and 1 most likely drafted top 10.  Just like Teddy wasn't on the same planet as Manning as a prospect, 1 first overall and one of the better QB prospects to come out  and one over drafted at the last pick in the first round in a weak QB class and was even considered weak back than by many

I know. Good thing Hockenson is a generational talent at TE.

We'll see. His athleticism is solid, but not Vernon Davis, Antonio Gates, etc. He would definitely be a Gene Smith "base hit," whereas taking Montez Sweat or Andre Dillard would be a home run swing.

You're not doing a very good job of saying why Hock is a better prospect. I've showed that Kittle was better on a per catch basis both in yards per catch and in touchdowns. Kittle was also a better athlete, and we all remember the multiple threads of Kittle crushing dudes dreams in the blocking game too. Yes, he was just as good of a prospect as Hock.

I think Hockenson is a better prospect than Kittle coming out
