3 pro bowls
10 playoff games
15 come from behind wins
21 game winning drives
174 career touchdown passes

dont' forget mcnair won an MVP

comparing mcnair to gerrard is a [BLEEP] joke lol

But we'r talking  about his team retiring his number.  Not the Hall of Fame.

ding, ding, ding

Teams/fanbases have their own favorites for a number of reasons unrelated to statistics - and those players need not be on a HOF short list to qualify for a retired number

Well for starters.. He was able to actually win and have very good offensive production despite that Jeff Fisher was his head coach ..

Also anyone who actually thinks Steve McNair's and David Garrard's careers were remotely comparable is either a blind homer or just straight hating on a player who led a divisional rival. It's probably a little of both in this case.

Watt, you gained my respect with this post.

Steve McNair. Best damn quarterback in Titans history. May he, and his #9 rest in peace.

The remarkable thing about that 1999 Titans team - and many of their early 2000's teams--was that they really didn't have many weapons on offense. McNair had very little to work with--except Frank Wycheck (HISS BOO). The Titans had a great defense, very good special teams, and a quarterback who could make great throws and escape the pocket when he had to. He was a tough opponent for the Jags, and certainly worthy of having his team jersey retired.
