Got to wonder if the Brits will be interested in that Hormuz security coalition now! As the top producer of oil, I don't see the U.S. willing to foot the bill for protecting tankers that have no impact on us directly. In fact, I think the U.S. benefits from this stupidity in the straights.

The UK did seize an Iranian tanker. Sure it may have been breaking the EU sanctions on Syria, but Iran isn’t part of the EU … So maybe the Brits tankers were breaking the Iran sanctions on Saudi Arabia. I’m no fan of Iran at all, but Iran and Syria are allies and have zero responsibility to honor EU sanctions … So what "really" gives the EU the authority to seize the property of sovereign countries?

This is how wars start. One hothead does something stupid, which is followed by another, and then you get a full blown 'conflict.'

The fact that the UK is by far more powerful than both those countries.

That's the way of the world and Iran will soon understand it.

The worst thing about this entire situation is the fact that the younger generation of Iranians (their Millennials) actually want to embrace the western culture but are denied by the actions of their Government.

This. The Iranians as a whole are pretty awesome folks. They love collecting American cars and try to embrace the style. It's the religious extremists that masquerade as a government that ruins all.

That's no masquerade.
