Anyone else gonna watch Bortles this preseason?

I know y’all will probably cook me for this one.. but I’m curious to see how Blake performs under McVay’s offense. Will be interesting to see his footwork, mechanics,  rhythm, and decision making. Although Im glad we moved on, I’m still a big fan of Blake’s, always though he was a class act.

Has anybody here ever played organized football? I have, so I will say this...

You are what you are. Yes you can clean up a few things here and there. You can read defenses better and small things like that. But a different coach and a different team is not going to make Bortles any better.

Brunell was the same QB up in Washington
Leftwich was hot garbage in Jax and in Atlanta. He had the same windup.

Gabbert was the same QB in Arizona.

Maybe a different way of calling the plays, but the NFL has the same plays for every team. What’s different is the timing of those plays and when to call somebody’s number.

I keep hearing “in flip’s offense”

It’s all the same, maybe a guy gets more opportunities but the play calls will be the same.

You'll have to wait till the 4th preseason game, when teams play the 4th string players.

I wonder if he'll be in danger of getting released by that point.

Brunell was post injury and aging by the time he left here... so not really the same.

But yeah... bad QBs still gonna be bad.

Not sure what that has to do with "in Flips offense" unless you are trying to slide in something negative about Foles?

Ill tune in to see if they trust him to move the ball or if they just go run heavy and have no faith in his arm

I'm interested to watch. I have a feeling McVay will get the best out of him. And Blake's best, is pretty darn good.

True, but he usually follows it with equally bad play. If McVay can just get him to raise the floor to "average" instead of "unwatchably hideous" then he'll be a starter again.

The one outlier being if you had to play under Jeff Fisher.. A big reason why Steve McNair is probably underrated.

Agreed. I've never seen someone so wildly up and down in a professional sport before. It's crazy. And I have to think that's more a mental thing.

That tight spiral! But, to be fair, he always looked better at roll outs and off balance versus in the pocket 15+yd throws. He is a play action QB and that system is ideal for him.

Look at that beautiful throwing motion.

He has a worse throwing motion than Tebow and Leftwich put together.

Why in the world is he holding the ball upside down with his arm in a horizontal position?

That’s crazy. He throws the ball like Lonzo shoots a 3.

What’s weird is when he rolls out to his right, he throws a great spiral and has perfect form.
