The simple answer is they want anything that makes Trump look bad. There isn't enough foresight to realize the pain that trickles down to the common citizen. Short-sighted at best. Why aren't they rooting for America? The POTUS is just a figure head.

Goes with Obama's new Netflix movie "American Factory". It's about a shuttered GM factory in Ohio that repoens as a windshield factory under Chinese leadership. Kiss your $29 union wage goodbye, America. You will now beg your Chinese overlords for $12.50. They can't see the forest for the trees. Peter Schiff made a good point. This recession could very well hit just before the next election. Trump will have his [BLEEP] handed to him by the media about it whether justified or not. But ultimately Schiff's fear is my same fear.

Let's say Trump doesn't win again in 2020, and the left somehow wins it.

Does this Country really feel that a Democratic Socialist (Socialists seem to be the front runners so far on the Left for this upcoming election) will do any better with a recession? It could very well be worse than it's ever been. It'll be interesting to see what happens for all of us.

1.  He (along with congress) gave working class Americans a tax cut.  Those people that actually PAY taxes (including myself) saw their bill get lower.  I have never donated a penny to his campaign.

2.  Regarding the "trade war".  Yes in the interim some people are going to suffer some, specifically farmers that grow soybeans or other products that the Chinese usually import from us.  The fact of the matter is China is hurting more than we are.  With our economy being so strong tariffs hurts them more than it hurts us.  By the way, the cheap "made in China" stuff is still pretty cheap in Wal-Mart.

3.  Contrary to what your left-wing talking points "media" tells you, our economy is strong and robust.  This is actually a good time for people to invest in the "American dream" and buy a home.  Interest rates are low, the housing market is flooded...  now is the time to actually spend money that people earned on something tangible.

That's just a start on your misguided view of today's current economic situation.  You and the others on the left so much want to see us go into a recession, yet all economic indicators seem to indicate otherwise.  All people of your ilk see is race and all you people want is what you feel that you are entitled to.  It doesn't work that way.  You are given the opportunity to work for and get to a good end result, not the entitled end result that you want or feel like you should be given.

Politics is a social construct. It is an interaction of many minds.
A mental disease is reduceable to one mind only.
But there are minds which carry ideas that are cancerous to the body politic. 
A lot of these minds and these ideas out there, and they're all different from each other.
But a lot of them say things like " I can disregard people who disagree with me because they are insane".
For a political system to work, the various members have to be in constructive conversation with each other regularly. You have to see the best in people who don't think like you. You can't just disregard them and call them insane. When you do that, you're really the one with the problem.
