the season depends on 2 things this year. 1. my lucky penny(note just got it this year)    2. how much i belieave in the lucky penny.

If i 100% belieave in the lucky penny Jags are going to the super bow;  if im at 25% or less belieaveing in the lucky penny, its going to be a long season.

right now im at 36%,but that could get lower or higher before sunday gets here.

as for the teams overall record we can't predict it until after the first game cuase our starters never played a full game, nor half.

I'm so happy the lucky penny is back

Why? Assuming the Jags don't get bitten by the injury bug like they did last year there's every reason to believe they can get back to their 2017 form. Except now the Jags have a QB who won't lose games for them.

....I believe Dave Caldwell employs the same strategy when it comes to roster moves and team outlook.

a while back we had a record prediction thread, and I believe I predicted a 7-9 record. Nothing I saw (or didn't see, rather) this preseason has swayed that opinion.

Why isn’t this an option in the poll???

This. I say 9 - 7 as it stands today. The NFC South is tough. As is the AFC West. They could potentially pull out of those eight games 4 - 4 or 5 - 3. The rest of the wins I feel come from a reeling AFC South between the tacks and clots. The tinhorns are really the only other competitive team I see in this division.

The division's overall outlook seems a lot more wide open now. But I still like this defense against anybody really. Smells like 2017 all over again. I truly feel more optimistic this year.

The clots took a step back with Luck's abrupt retirement. That will have a long term effect on the lockeroom's morale. The tinhorns added Tunsil. Traded Clowney. I like our odds there. The tacks seem beatable. Granted, they've always had our number. But I have no faith in Mariota and/or Tannehill and I believe Foles will do enough at the QB position this year to not cost us any games with divisional rivals.

I see no sense in making a prediction until we’ve seen them play. By late Sunday afternoon we’ll be more certain.

jaguarmvp is apparently getting really pissed about predicting a win total that is not within the options provided

I too am in @ 9-7.

However, I just found a lucky ear of corn! If corn could be added to the poll, it would win in a landslide!

I'm going to shuck it, and butter it just before kickoff.

CHAMPS BABY!!

That's why it's going to work in our favor. Nobody knows what to expect. We could attack these teams from multiple angles now. 9 - 7 is the record they'll finish with. Maybe 10 - 6. Lucky penny involved or not. We've got Nick Foles in the house now. He'll turn your penny into a nickel by the end of October.

Just watch and see.

Not really.  I remember a year when the pats with Tom Brady under center got blown out 41-0 on week 1.  That same team went on to win the Superbowl.

I would say after week 4 we would have a solid sense.  Again the roster is really thin.  Injuries control our fate.  I believe the current roster is good enough to win 10 games on the Schedule.

If we suffer no major injuries AND play up to our potential: 10-6.
