Willie is left to sort through the pieces to find anything salvageable, and it doesn't seem like there's a lot.  If you don't have a good line, you're not going to do well in the top conferences. I don't know if Willie will be able to build it the way he wants, or if he is able, will it actually work? I don't know that the fanbase will be patient enough to let him get the ship righted.

Being an outsider in TLH, I just sit back and snicker, but not too loudly, since Michigan is kinda (fart noise) recently, too.

Jimbo Fisher left FSU with the #3 recruiting class in 2015, the #2 recruiting class in 2016, and the #5 recruiting class in 2017.   He actually left the cupboard full of (37) 4 star and (10) 5 star recruits.  This was vastly greater than Boise State, ULM, and Virginia recruited during that period in time.

On the offensive side of the ball, the problem is that he left the cupboard bare at two really important places, OL and QB.  The defense I believe is a product of poor coaching.  He wanted Jim Leavitt from the beginning but couldn't get him away from Oregon.  He has him now as an analyst who will likely take over as DC the following year when he's allowed to, but I'm not sure Willie will make it that far.

Edit, the rash of injuries on the OL last year didn't help either, they were so thin they were moving defensive tackles over to play offensive guard.
