Positives out of the loss versus Texans

#1

1. Garner Minshew.  This guy has swag and believe he has a good future  Had a 97 rating, Threw for 70%, Ran for 40 yards and Scored a passing TD on the game deciding drive.

2. DJ Chark:  This guy is emerging as a play maker.  Another solid game for him.  7 catches 55 yards and a TD

3. Defensive play:  The defense played much better today.  They held their opponents to 13 points, we should win all of those games.

4. Chris Conley:  This guy could be a star.  He looks the part.  4 catches 73 yards

5. Quincy Williams: This rookie was flying all over the field.  6 tackles 3 assist

6. Ramsey:  He dropped the pick but played really well.  I agree that Moron should of thrown the Flag.

I gotta add Todd Wash to this. I been so critical of him, but he FINALLY made some adjustments and called creative blitzes. Allowing Ramsey to play man against Hopkins was huge. Ramsey owned the day, would of been nice if he could of capped off his performance with that INT, but all in all amazing game by Ramsey against an all pro receiver. All 3 sacks in the stat sheet belonged to players who don't play on the DL. Harrison and Hayden both had 1 each and Jacobs/Jack combined on one. They said on TV a sack went to Allen, but I'm not seeing it anywhere so.

Outstanding gameplan by Wash, he had O'brien's offense so off. They didn't see it coming. They probably thought same ol Wash playing that same ol zone. Not today. If he continues to be creative like this and make adjustments, this defense will be the leagues best.

Big positives...
Minshew might be the gold nugget in the pan we have been waiting for. Sure looks the part so far.
Defense is back and strong.
And we might have enough proof that Marrone is not the guy, which could set us up for a Mike McCarthy hire to carry us forward for seasons to come.

How can you not love our new QB!

He’s a stud and we stole him in the 6th round. He’s very accurate and has a good arm. Imagine him in year 2 or 3 with an entire camp and support.

He brought the team back, and literally put the team on his shoulders and went out and made plays on that final drive. Had a chance to steal a game on the road in a hostile environment in a division game and almost won.

That is what we’ve all be yearning for since the Brunell days. If Foles gets healthy this year, I’m sticking with the Rookie.

I would leave it as an open comp when Foles returns unless Minshew takes it up another level. I agree it is awesome having a QB who can actually complete not just 60% but 70% of his throws, but Nick Foles has been pretty solid in the past too.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Minshew has until at least week 11 to show what he can do. Hes been impressive in his first two games and if it continues, this team should look at trading Foles in the off season. Take whatever you can get for him and move on from all that $$ he'll be taking up.

Obviously Minshew still has plenty to show/prove, but this would be the best case scenario.

They competed in an NFL game today, that is quite the improvement.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

If the Jags are .500, you bring Foles back. Let him work that late season magic.

If they are a couple games above .500 (hahahahaha), then stick with Minshew.

If it’s a waste of a season at week 11, I’m not sure what you do. I guess you go back to Foles to make sure he’s the guy you want but you should start scouting Tua, Herbert, Fromm.

I gotta thank Dom Capers for the defense today. He had his hand it for sure. Wash isn't that smart.

If Minshew starts winning and, as important, becomes the face of the franchise, there's no way Foles comes back in.

Punter was pretty good too.

I have no clue what will happen if the moron is still coaching the team .... he probably won't remember who Foles is

Only positive I see is Marrone, Caldwell, and Coughlin are one game closer to being fired.

Oh god...

Henry went for what? 240 yards last time we played him? We are having a lot of tackling issues to start the season too. Ugh... this really could get ugly. Definitely got a bad feeling about this one. Hopefully our front 7 really shows up to prove a point after that embarrassment last year against Henry. We can only hope, right?

Last year we were winning until we knocked Mariota out, and in came Blaine Gabbert, and he beat us.  Ouch.

I don't see a problem with Caldwell.  We have a lot of talent on this roster.

I wish Ramsey was more of a play maker. Yeah he drapes all over WR's and prevents big plays. But he drops so many INTS every season.
