Nothing wrong with trading a 6th to move up one spot. Especially in the second round. For all we know they didn't value Lightbulb as much as everyone else does. And even if they did--they clearly liked Robinson better.
More picks isn't always better. Do more with less. You only have so many roster spots anyway. Caldwell's trades have been generally good. In fact his drafts have been pretty well received. (No Alualu or Anger moments. No trading a future 2nd for a 3rd. Myles Jack AND Jalen Ramsey. Allen Robinson AND Marqise Lee.) And sure, a number of them haven't panned out, but it's not like the armchair GM's knew they wouldn't pan out either. They were excited for a reason. |
