This could be a sick bar in a rap song. Need one of those mumble rapper beats.

I hope he's not in any serious trouble though. He did look crazy thin in that picture.

"Jimmy Smith abruptly retiring"? Not even. Jimmy Smith should have retired a couple years earlier. By the time he finally did, he could hardly catch a pass anymore. There was nothing abrupt about it.

Yeah, 70 catches for 1,000 yards and 6 scores was just terrible. No way that guy should've been on a roster.  Rolleyes

Man, have you been hitting the sticky like Telvin and Rollerjag?

Guy cranked out 1000 yard seasons every season he was a starter here, except 2003 when he only played 12 games.  Retiring the season after having 1000/70/6 is pretty abrupt

Thought the circulating rumor at that time was that he was potentially facing another suspension for substance abuse going into 2006. The media questioned him about it. His retirement was abrupt. He decided to call it quits in the middle of May. This was well after the draft and well after having a good look at some of the better free agents available at that time.

I remember being pissed off as a kid because it changed the way this front office would have approached that draft at the WR position. Some good ones came out of the class too between Santonio Holmes, Greg Jennings, Marques Colston & Brandon Marshall.

They were coming off a 12 - 4 season in 2005. And then fell to 8 - 8 in 2006 because they had to rely on guys like Reggie Williams, Matt Jones & Ernest Wilford. Which none of those guys had shown the ability to be a true No. 1 receiver yet in their 2nd & 3rd years.

Jimmy really [BLEEP] this team over going into 2006.

So basically he could  be in trouble for a sexual crime or sexual misconduct with a 17 year old? A minor? Ouch.

Yeah everyone seems to suggest it's something involving a minor

Looks like he may end up being a bigger [BLEEP] than you originally thought.

It's a convoluted issue...

When I was younger I knew that law pretty well... the AoC is 16 with parents permission as long as you are within 7 years of their age.

It very well may have changed in the last 10 years though.

Most states in the south don't have an age of consent if you're related.
