Why are people doubting Minshew so much?

Foles vs Minshew will be battling it out and I promise you, there will be plenty of competition between the two.
Lets hope Foles isn’t back because we don’t need that.

Get rid of him and eat some of the dead money. Keep Minshew around and if Tua is available in round 1, take him.
Tua would be in for a ride awakening if we drafted him.  If he thinks he faced pressure at Ala. he has another thing coming.  Not to mention his WRs won't be running wide open on almost every play. Not to mention the injury history

Everyone is saying “get Minshew more weapons, a TE and a better OLine”

If you got those things for Tua, the offense would have a much higher ceiling.

Whatever the case, I just hope Foles, Caldwell, Coughlin and Marrone are gone

Even without Minshew, I'm not a huge fan of Tua

Because we have some people on this board who are emotionally impaired?
No QB in Jaguars history has shown this kind of clutch play, especially as a rookie. Leftwich pulled off ONE 4th quarter comeback in Buffalo his rookie year and a Mod here acted like he wanted to have his baby afterwards.
If he were a First Rounder, no one would have complaint one. I can't wait for a competent coaching staff who surround Minshew with some at least average protection, TEs and smart schemes so he can prove the doubters wrong, wrong, wrong.

I doubt the coaching staff and/or front office for jumping ship after London and going back to Foles. You basically punished a kid for a rookie game and some bad quarters of play.

Minshew is fun to watch and seems like he can get things done. The announcers talked about his commitment to the play book and working on his game. Self motivation is a big deal when you are middle of the pack with football attributes. I just like the kid after all the hopeless drivel we have under center for this team.

Minshew is a better QB than Tua. Smarter, better tools, and certainly more durable. Tua is a 'Bama system QB, nothing more.

Guess who ? Blake Bortles.

Once again, stop with the overreaction. Minshew ain't special.

Maybe, but spending a first round pick on Tua means one less first round pick for an elite offensive lineman or elite tight end.  I go back and forth, but right now, after yesterday's game, I would lean toward keeping both Foles (for the salary cap ramifications) and Minshew, in the hope that one of them will pan out, and spending our first round picks building the team.

I go back and forth on the QB question, do we need one or not, but if they decide to go next year without drafting one, I could live with that, because that would give us one more good player at another position.  Suppose we have pick #7 or so, should we take Tua or some TE that resembles TJ Hockenson?  A great TE would make a QB like Minshew so much more effective.

Waller tore us up yesterday. A good TE like that changes the complexion of the offense. Unlike Oakland we have hope in receivers like Chark and Conley.

They have to build up this team around what they already have. I don't see Burrow and Tagovailoa in Jacksonville next year.

Herbert is too inconsistent for my liking. If we take a QB in next year's draft. It'll remind me of 2003. We saw some flashes in a rookie by the name of Garrard in 2002.

Chose Leftwich. Ruined Garrard's development. Set our team back for awhile. Where as. You could have rolled with Brunell & Garrard ONE more year and had a shot at Manning, Rivers or Roethlisberger in 2004.

Please don't [BLEEP] this up Khan. Roll with Minshew and Foles one more year. Give them the chances they BOTH deserve and if they fail you have 2021 with more hopeful potentials to choose from at QB.

The fans love Minshew. You can't do wrong by giving him 2020 to prove it. Foles was beat up early on a big contract. Threw a pretty damn TD pass during said injury. The fans are reasonable. Foles wasn't given a fair chance. Let 2020 also be his chance to prove it.

In the mean time you patch up your holes on offense and defense in 2020. It seems like a no brainer to me. But I hope the next regime sees this as well. If not. I guess it'll be a case of hear me now and believe me later.

Well this TE class is worse than last years.

There isn’t a Hockenson or Fant. There may not even be a TE taken in round 1 this year.

It all depends on what the new regime wants. Most of them want “their” guy and not a hold over from before.

But my point is, if you draft Tua, you are spending a very valuable pick on a guy you may not need, instead of spending it on a guy you DEFINITELY need.  We have plenty of DEFINITE needs, but we're not really sure QB is one of them.

That's why right now I would say roll with Minshew for 2020 and find out what he really is, and in the meantime spend picks on definite needs.

I have came to the conclusion that a true MLB and a leader of men is the biggest need for this team right now. There is a few good ones that will be playing in the college playoffs so stay tuned.

MinGOAT gonna GOAT. He was literally calling his own plays in the fourth quarter. I saw him whisper on the sideline "This OC is an inbred I'ma do this myself"

If there is a guy like malholmes there, then you take him. It doesn’t matter what you currently have. If there is Tua with his injury available, I would not take him with our first pick unless we think he is going to truly be top tier. Personally, I think Minshew should be the guy based on his rookie year so far.

Why would Tua come out this year? His injury is compraable to Bo Jackson's - though not quite as serious. He's got a lot of rehab to do in the next year, and i doubt any team would risk a first round pick on him.

I'm all in with Minshew. The coach may have cost himself the job going back to Foles.
