Khan Fires Coughlin

TC is stubborn and way too strict but he is nowhere near a bad person, in fact he is not a bad person at all imho.

Maybe the same Mickey Washington who played corner for the Steelers and here for a season or two?

Didn't we have another Washington CB from the Steelers? I thought maybe it was him.
Just googled him, yeah, we had another one https://www.nfl.com/players/dewayne-wash...ats/career but Coughlin wasn't here in 2004.

Ramsey also said it was Caldwell in that meeting where TC didn't say a single thing. This time IMO he is just telling that, overall, his problem was with Coughlin and his rules, but the Caldwell thing in that meeting was the last straw... whatever I ain't going back to that topic. Caldwell did show he was awful anyway.

It probably was mostly just Coughlin, but he did seem to call out Caldwell in the final meeting they had.  It was probably a 95/5 thing in favor of Coughlin with Caldwell being the final nail in the coffin. At least we can continue to put to bed the notion that Marrone was in any way an issue.

Marrone wasn't that bad (not great either) but he was too loyal to Wash and probably Warhop too.

Even in that story Ramsey called Dave the bad cop, and implied Dave didn't usually act that way.
Jalen demanding a trade didn't hurt the team directly.  The team got valuable picks from that.
It was the indirect damage.  The confirmation that the team did not treat players well, causing free agents to not want to come to Duval or stay in Duval, and hopefully that's over now.  Time will tell.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

I hope your back starts to feel better, or we might have to trade you to the rams message board.

I wish we never lost him. He was the first player selected during my time as a fan, who looked well on his way to being the best player in franchise history by a mile. no disrespect towards Bosseli or Freddy t, but this man will probably be a 1st ballot HOFer.

THE DEVIL, YOU SAY.

Absolute worst hire in team history, and that includes schleps like Who Douglas, Gene Smith, and Urbz

I can easily see that as TC giving Dave orders to conduct the meeting and things to say, points to emphasize, etc, and just stood there making sure Dave did as told.

Dave's never spoken on the matter, and probably won't. You have to ask yourself, though. Why did the moment everything started falling apart coincide with the team's EVP hire? Why didn't anyone have a problem with (or speak up about) Dave's conduct before the EVP came in?

Full disclosure, I showed up late to the Jags party, moved here around 2002. I don't have a lot of the warm fuzzies to shape my perspective when it comes to TC. I only got to see him drag the team into cap hell, and then return for a second gutting. I don't hold him on any pedestal that a lot of others here use to soften some of the harsh criticisms against him.

Pretty much what a lot of us figured, nice to finally hear it out of his mouth though.

We already knew the team pretty much hated Coughlin. Ramsey already said that they made that run in 2017 in spite of Coughlin. He said it basically helped them all band together because they disliked him so much lol.

I agree with this. Another 4 or 5 years if he stays on top, he will go down as top 10 CB of all time. And he’s gonna end up being a first ballot.
