Week 16- Saturday Football Games

#1

Today we are getting some Saturday Football like we usually do towards the end of the regular season. I am looking forward to watching the games today. First up the Texans and Bucs. Jameis Winston has already thrown a pick six at the start of the game, lol. He throws a bunch of picks but he also actually has the 2nd most thrown passing TD's on the season. He really is very up and down.

So far the officiating in this game is atrocious. Tampa getting robbed. Winston has had a rough start but the tinhorns got away with P.I earlier and a dead ball call on a clear fumble recovery.

Desparate to get them in the play off's today I guess.

Look how great Watson is. Eyeroll.

The Bucs have now gotten a little momentum with that interception thrown by Deshaun, after a mostly rough half for them. (With Jameis throwing 3 INT getting closer to throwing 30 on the season). Maybe they can get some more points on the board and make this game closer before the half ends.

The announcer (Rich Eisen?) keeps calling Watson "Winston." Reminds me of the Jags preseason games where Brian Sexton kept calling Lambo "Scobee."

That last interception for Jameis was another costly one for the Bucs. Granted, he did look better in the 2nd half. And he was driving them down the field at at points, including on that drive that ended up with a big drop by Cameron Brate. But he has had too many turnovers in this game (And in general). And that made enough of a difference in today's game and helped the Texans clinch the AFC South.

Now that the Texans have won the division, I wonder who will get the wildcard spot. Steelers, Titans, Browns and Raiders all still could win it. I think that the Titans have the best shot of winning it, though the Raiders still have a shot as well, and have two games against the Chargers/Broncos that they could win. I think that Browns will be eliminated from contention tomorrow. I could actually see the Steelers losing to the Jets tomorrow. But they could also win that game and then they face the Ravens again in Week 17. (And I wonder if the Ravens will rest starters that week, if so that could help the Steelers chances.)

The Bills did a nice job of creating a turnover during the start of this game. The Patriots were moving the ball down the field well, but Jordan Poyer did a good job of causing the fumble. The Bills didn't get a TD out of the turnover, but they were able to put some points on the board. I do wonder how this game will end up turning out. In the match up these two teams had earlier this year, it was a lower scoring game. And the Bills hung in that game with the Patriots (though they lost). I wonder what the result will be this time around. I hope that the Bills win, I do not want to see the Patriots win and get a first round bye.

So tired of them talking how well Brady was elusive in the pocket, well yeah the LT gets to blatantly hold the DE right in front of the ref. The NFL is so bad.

The Patriots are moving down the field much too easily in this game. I could see them building up a sizeable lead quickly. The Bills defense needs to try and make a stop on this drive and the offense needs to step up. Josh hasn't been throwing well in this game so far. He's definitely been overthrowing his receivers. Maybe he can settle down and the Bills offense can get something going. Or this game may start to get away from them.

That 4th down spot was BS as well. Sick of the Patriots.

It's hilarious how much announcers love them. "That wasn't a pick." Yeah he literally ran right into the defender and kept him from covering the TE and then pretended to be hurt, but whatever.

Josh is doing a good job of making some big plays on this drive. Like way he drove forward and got that yardage on the fourth down. And that big throw he made to Cole Beasley to help move his team down the field. I hope that the Bills end up scoring a TD on this drive.

I wish that the Bills would have won, but I do want to give credit to Josh Allen for how he ended up playing in this game. He made some big throws/plays and fought hard to keep his team in the game. He continues to show toughness. I have been impressed with some of his play this year, he's shown some nice growth from his rookie year.

I do think that the future for the Bills is promising. It's a good sign that they were in a position to still possibly win the AFC East. (Especially this late in the season). I could see them being a tough match up in the playoffs. I definitely could see them beating Houston in the first round. (Which is the team they will more than likely face off against). I think they would be favored in that match up.

Ramsey literally can't make a routine tackle without acting like a complete moron. I hate him.

Goff just went full Goff.

Is it me or is Josh Allen (the QB) everything you wish Bortles could have been.

Turned on just to see the Niners score then a Goff pick 6. C'mon Rams, 8-8

I wonder what it's like to have a TE like Kittle?

Good drive by the 49ers there, capped off with a nice TD catch by Kittle. I Think that this has been an interesting game. The Rams defense has played pretty hard, especially with the way they have gotten after Jimmy G. Especially last sack in particular they got on him around the 12 minute mark in this last quarter. He looked crumpled up in that sack. He also was having some problems tonight (especially earlier) due to the play of his backup center and him doing things live giving bad snaps. I think that caused Jimmy to look a bit antsy.

Though, now the 49ers have taken the lead and I am interested in seeing what happens in these last few minutes. Sean McVay has been doing a nice job of calling plays tonight for Jared Goff who has looked better than he has in other games this season.
