Former Raiders HC Expected to Land Coaching Job With Redskins: Report

After Jack Del Rio was fired by the Oakland Raiders to make room for Jon Gruden, he took a couple of years off from the football field. He had been linked to a couple of jobs, but nothing happened. Things could finally change for the former head coach and defensive guru as ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Del Rio could be joining Ron Rivera and the Washington Redskins.

I saw it as a DC for Rivera. Wouldn’t be a bad get if so. Pretty good DC, about as average a HC as you can get.

Del rio he had success everywhere he’s been with his defenses, the track record speaks for itself... just don’t let him near the head coaching gig and you’re fine.

Great fit. They've done extremely well together in their respective roles.

Del Rio's an extremely capable DC. He'll do well for himself up there with the pieces they have.
