New QB drafted in 2017?

#1

When I look at how good rookies like Carr and Wentz look it makes me pretty sad how our 3rd year QB is playing.  To be blunt he is playing like a flat out bum.  There is no excuse for the way Bortles has played going into his 3rd year and 2nd year in a row in the same system.  Over throws, inaccuracy, poor decision making, and just flat out awful play sums up his 2016 season so far.  We will most likely be picking again in the top 10 or top 5 and have a shot at a new signal caller.

If we continue to play this roller coaster game with blake, is he done after this year?  I hope so.  The real hope is he becomes a good consistent QB.   It's almost a miracle at this point.

I want to see him under a new coaching staff before I pull the trigger and draft another QB. Hopefully, we see that next year.

stop.

but if we were to change QBs, id rather sign a veteran and completely overhaul the offensive line.

you should notice that the Eagles have one of the best lines in football

Let's face it, he's never been a great or even good pure thrower.  He was a project where his physical mechanics Caldwell & Bradley thought we could fix, but that hasn't occurred.  Combine that with bad and not improving in-play (still staring down receivers as an example), decision making, and general game management, it's very unlikely he's the QB we want for the future.  2017, I would suppose it depends on what's available.

I doubt a QB is drafted in '17.

Unless a prospect DC likes falls to a mid/late round.

But who knows?  A new coach may potentially be more involved in such decisions with the GM (probably still  Dave) and that coach may want a different guy.  Hard to guess, but I think it's unlikely.

Blake seems fixable to me.

How and why did you lump Carr and Wentz in the same rookie category? I'll admit, Wentz looks legit, but so is the rest of the team. Statistically, Carr is right there with Bortles, with interceptions being the dividing factor. Either way, I don't believe you try and draft a QB just yet. Not sure there are any worth taking at this point.

Because the coaches are playing to his strengths. Who would have thunk it that coaches do that? The coaches around here don't that's for damn sure.
