Should we re-sign Fowler?

#1

I know, it’s a long shot and he probably burned his bridges but hear me out. He did register more sacks than Ngakoue last year and his game has been steady improving every year. He would be the perfect replacement in the edge rotation as he already knows the system and if we are going to trade Ngakoue, edge would need to be addressed. The draft this year doesn’t look so hot outside of a handful of guys.

Fowler’s reported issues were with Yannick and the front office. With Yan traded and with Tom fired, would he have a change of heart? His contract demands have to be lowering the longer we get into free agency. If you could sign him to a 1 year deal with a team option for a 2nd year, would you do it?

No.
Sure he was good last season...but he was playing next to Aaron Donald, Brockers and Clay Matthews.
We dont have this kind of Dline in Jax and he will be probably exposed.

Oh and I hate to bring back ex-players. It rarely works.

I don't know, I'm completely confused by about 50% of this teams actions over the last 18 months.

Not being privy to locker room cohesiveness, it sure looks questionable trading him away if they thought there was a chance they'd trade Campbell this off-season.

In the end, 91% sure that bridge has been burned at this point.

I wouldn't be mad if they did.

If he's willing and comes back with the right attitude but I'd guess the chances of that actually happening are zero.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I'd much rather they just get Yan back.

Since 2016, only Aaron Donald and Von Miller have more pressures than Yan.

So nah.

Just pay Yan. He’s the better player and that bridge isn’t nearly as burned.

Apparently the bridge is burned though. From all the people connected, they’re saying Jags are offering the most money but he doesn’t want to sign here.

Sucks that his ego is bigger than he is... he'd be amazing versus the run.

Unless he gets no reasonable offers elsewhere, I don't see it happening.

That chapter of his story is closed, and it's probably not something he wants to revisit, even if the primary offenders are gone. If you worked for a company that treated you like a steamy pile of dog doo, would you be eager to accept a new job there, even if they got rid of the guy in HR who made you want to leave in the first place?

Wait until that ihauntingfowlersjockstrap guy sees this. He's licking his chops.

Yea.... except his run stopping abilities are understated. He’s not the best but he’s average. You pay pass rushers to.... rush the passer and he does that very well judging by his 211 pressures since 2016.

With no Campbell and then possibly no Yan, Jags would be in a world of hurt even with Allen.

No and i actually like the guy. After the treatment he received and this obsession some fans have over Yann, just go somewhere else. I'm ready to see if Yann is the real deal or if there is more crow to be served to this fan base another consecutive year.

He's seeing he's not even close to what he thought he was worth because he's crap against the run.. not average, crap. Yea, he's elite at rushing the passer... but to get 20+ you better be great at both.

Hahaha. I'd like to get Fowler back but it's not gonna happen. I like him but I wouldn't call myself his fan, I didn't even want him in that draft.

No.

I'll take Yan > DFJ all day.

Imagine if they swapped teams, I'd say that Yannick would put up even crazier numbers than Fowler did with their stacked d-line.

Michael Brockers is so good at rushing the passer he only got 3 sacks
Clay Matthews who is 33

Yan was playing with Calais and J. Allen both pro bowlers.
Also had Calais and Malik in 2017.
If you are gonna put Brockers I can also say Calais and Dareus in 2018.

It is kinda funny how Yan is so elite that he has only lead his own team once in sacks and that was in his rookie year LOL

Look bro, learn the rules of jag fandom before commenting lol.  If you outplay ur team competition in one year even if getting more pt, your the next best rising star.  Who cares if Fowler showed up in the playoffs where stars are truly born.  Who cares if we had a stacked d line n secondary and yann didnt put up the numbers that elite players should in the scheme.  Who cares if Fowler did more with equal talent when played at his right position.  Your a jags fan so act like it and keep reminiscing on the past greatness a player showed to make u feel right.

Have u been awake or in a coma through the Foles debate last year smh lol.

People that can't see that Yannick gets pressure consistently by beating Left Tackles one on one, opposed to Fowler getting pressure inconsistently via stunts or being unblocked are very special folks.
