.... drugs, alcohol, sex parties, pimping out cheerleaders ..... they may have sucked like the Jags but it sounds like they had fun going down

Gardner met with the media today and talked some more about the offense. He said that Laviska Is a "freak" and a better route runner and at catching the ball than he expected. He also said that Collin Johnson moves well and is good at catching the ball, and he's excited to work with both of them. As well as with DJ Chark again and mentioned DJ's growth as a receiver over the past couple of years. He said that learning Gruden's offense has been exciting and he's looking forward to playing in it and spreading the ball around to the receivers. He also talked a bit about the TE situation on his team.

Here is a video of his press conference with the media today, with him mentioning these things.

So are we in the clear with Grudens whole ordeal? I haven't really seen anything about it lately.

Yeah I believe so. If something were coming of it, it would have been news already.

Much ado about nothing considering what was being rumored on Twitter wasn't even remotely close to the actual "bombshell".
Which really turned out to be a very minor scandal involving almost nobody of importance.

Jay Gruden continues to talk about how well Gardner is doing. He said recently that Gardner is a hard worker with a huge upside. He says he's excited to that tap into that with Gardner and that the coaching staff is challenging Gardner with protections and concepts and it's going great so far with him. He likes where Gardner's mind is at.

Chris Conley also praised Gardner today and says he is taking more chances this year, than he did last year. He says that Gardner is taking more risks "and going for it more".

WR coach Keenan McCardell also has praise for Laviska Shenault. He says that Laviska reminds him of Anquan Boldwin (The way he can get yards after the catch) and has the power of Andre Johnson. HE also has high expectations for DJ Chark and wants him to take on more of a leadership role:

McCardell on Gruden's Offense:

Quote:As a player, McCardell spent time in offensive coordinator Jay Gruden’s offense, at least a version of it. In 2002-03, McCardell played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when Jay’s brother, Jon Gruden, was the team’s head coach while Jay, an offensive assistant. When asked about the similarities and the chance to work with Jay again, McCardell lit up.

“Oh it’s been great! I mean, I kind of know this offense pretty well. I’ve been to the Pro Bowl with this offense, so I understand this offense. I can kind of help my guys get through some of the hard parts of this offense. I think Jay has kind of made it a little bit simpler than [Las Vegas Raiders head coach] Jon [Gruden],” he says.

While the offenses are certainly similar, McCardell noted that Jay’s offense features less pre-snap shifts, making it a bit easier outside.

“It’s concept-driven and our guys have picked it up pretty well. I mean, our virtual meetings in the spring were really big for us and we’re fortunate enough [that] we’ve got some smart guys that are picking the offense up.”

Another hint at something to look forward to in Gruden's offense:

Jay Gruden talked about the offense today with local media. He said he's pretty optimistic about the offense. He said he largely feel that way because of the offensive line. He also mentioned that the Jags will be in attack mode. He also.praises Gardner, DJ, Cam and James Robinson. He said he's impressed with how well James can catch/block.

It will be good to not have to watch the offense force the ball to LF for 3 quarters. Attacking with something that is hard to defend should be a good thing to watch.

The coaching staff seems to really like him. They say he's no nonsense and hard working. Someone joked and said he's only smiled twice in training camp, lol. Jay says that he's confident in James and he will be ready to go this week.

I really don't think the offense is going to miss a beat without Fournette. Robinson was an all-purpose, complete back in college. I think all the WCO needs is a solid, fundamental, all-around back like that. Between Ozigbo, Armstead, and Turner, I think there'll be a good rotation, and at least two will emerge as reliable contributors. Don't need anything flashy from the position, just consistency. The flash will come from the receiving corp. Chark and Lavishka are going to be world beaters.

DJ seemed confident in his presser today about the offense. He said they have a lot of guys on offense who are impressive.. He mentioned Laviska and how they talked about how he can step up when teams are going after DJ. DJ had high.praise for gruden. He seems to really respect him and his approach to their offense.

He talked about enjoying playing for Jay. DJ also mentioned that he believes he's improved a lot since last season. He also talked about how he's learned to understand defenses more. And he talked about the upcoming game with.the Colts and what they do best.

DJ's presser below: (Gardner also.has a presser during the first half of this video):
