JagNGeorgia is correct.   Federal agents can investigate violations of federal law.  They cannot enforce local laws.  Re-read my posts, and you can see, that is what I have been saying.   Federal agents cannot enforce local laws.  So, absent a request from local authorities, they cannot go into a city to "restore law and order."  That's unconstitutional.  That power is reserved to the states.  

For example, if Trump had sent in federal troops to dismantle the erstwhile "chop zone," that would have been unconstitutional.
