Based upon what I saw...

1.  Nice throw by Minshew deep to Westbrook.

2.  Shenault looked huge compared to Westbrook.

3.  I readily admit I don't know Henderson's assignment on the play, but he looked confused.  I can't imaging Schoebert would have the responsibility of covering a slot receiver that far down the field.  Henderson looked hesitant shifting sides of the field, and he seemed confused as to the coverage.  It seems like he should have been on Westbrook, but I could be wrong.

Thoughts?

From what I could see #24 was originally lined up a NB on the defensive right side, and he covered the outside receiver when he ran that short in route.  Maybe he had underneath zone responsibility.  Shenault was in motion from left to right on the screen, ending up between Westbrook, who had the slot and whoever the outside receiver was to the left.  I'm thinking this might have been some sort of three deep coverage, because the RCB continued back.  To me, if #24 had underneath  zone coverage Henderson should not have been lingering underneath on that side.  He seems stuck in no man's land between Shenault and Westbrook and seemed slow out of his backpedal.  He never really covered anyone.

To my untrained eye, it appears Wilson was out of position too.  I don't know if he initially played the wrong route, Minshew looked him off, or what.

Nevertheless, assuming my take on the above is correct, I'd rather the team make these mistakes now than in a game.

I liked that throw that Gardner made to Westbrook.I had read from the local reporters on Twitter that he had some impressive throws today. I was also glad to see CJ play a bit better against Chris Conley in that second clip that you posted. Also, I am hearing/reading really good  things about Shenault. I'm looking forward to seeing more clips of him in action.

It's interesting you posted these clips, because I was thinking of starting a training camp videos thread, lol. Maybe we can post videos from camp in this thread. It will give us the opportunity to make observations about the team and how they are coming along, before the season begins. Especially since we aren't getting preseason this year. Here are some more clips including this really nice throw from Minshew to DJ Chark:

And him throwing to Shenault and Tyler Eifert:

I'm looking forward to watching more of the team in training camp/practice. Nice way to tide fans over until the season starts. I have always believe this team will end up being better than a lot of people say they will.

It sounds like the coaching staff has really taken to him as well. According to the local reporters they really seem to like him and they have mentioned they want him to do a lot of different things. They said they will be putting a lot on his plate. I'm looking forward to seeing him working with Gardner and the offense and seeing how Jay ends up using him.

I am okay with making this the go to thread for camp videos, especially since we can't attend practices for ourselves (grrr!).  That said, I know I will miss writing/reading camp reports.  I don't know why, but I've noticed over the years, without question, the camp reports that come from this forum (in its various iterations) are usually more detailed than those that come from the T-U writers and the team.  Maybe because we don't have deadlines.  Maybe because we don't have a limit to fit into a column.  Maybe it's because we are fans and love the team.  But it's almost always the case.

Of the few comments I've heard, the one thing that encourages me the most are the comments about how strong his hands are.  The last Jaguars WR I heard get compliments like that was Justin Blackmon.  Now if Shenault can have Blackmon's football ability while staying the hell away from substance dependence, we'll have something special.

Cool, I hope we get some more good videos to post in this thread. I wish we could get the camp reports from fans too, but hopefully we still get a lot of good content from the reporters on places like Twitter.

I'm happy to hear a lot of the positive comments about Laviska and how well he catches. I did see in a report today they mentioned how he was getting good yards after the catch. I've also seen people mention how physically strong he is with Gardner calling him a "freak". Hopefully he will end up working out well for the Jags. I definitely think he could. I'm glad to hear that him and Gardner are working to mesh with each other. Laviska says that Gardner believes he can be special and Gardner has said he's always thought he was special. He even said that he believed that Laviska would have been a Heisman candidate, had he not gotten injured. I'm looking forward to seeing them build a connection together. Here is another clip of him from practice today:

https://twitter.com/Demetrius82/status/1...0013460486

And here is a clip of Collin Johnson catching that was posted on the Jags Twitter account yesterday. (I'm not sure who the QB throwing to him is in this clip, some people think it's Gardner, but some people say the person that is throwing to him is too tall to be Gardner).

I was also glad to hear some more positive things in training camp, like the staff saying that Josh Allen has gotten in even better shape (he's gotten leaner). And that they believe he will become even quicker than he was last year.

One tweet said Chark and Laviska will be the next Jimmy and Keenan. It would be great to have another Thunder and Lightning.

There was hardly any new videos from today's practice at training camp, before the padded practices begin tomorrow. But there were positive comments that were made from reporters that attended it today. Some of them were saying that Gardner continues to look impressive and is making impressive throws to DJ Chark and Chris Conley. They said that DJ made an impressive catch from good coverage from CJ Henderson. I also read a report that Gardner targeted James O'Shaungessy multiple times today and they had a good practice together. Looking forward to hearing/seeing more of these things:

Also while Gardner played well overall today Joe Scobert almost had a near interception of him today. This was one of the very few videos from camp today: One of the reporters says that Joe looks faster than advertised (tbut mentions that may not be evident in the video:

Well this was a nice thread to open, I used to love bullseyes write ups. It’s nice to have something’sort of’ normal to read.

It's weird not having preseason games to chew over. Guess we have to save the panic for the opener. Or for the disco.

Here is another video from the first day of camp today that the Jags Twitter account posted. It shows a little bit more of the offense and defense going against each other in practice:

Since this thread is becoming the default "camp talk" thread, an interesting note from Hays Carlyon today on the radio announcing he sees Jake Luton as a better passer than Glennon or Dobbs.

Not necessarily the better QB, as much is to be determined there, but says he throws a noticeably better ball than the other depth.

Very interesting. Also the video of our TE group today was interesting in what they stated. Must watch.
