This franchise has been a laughing stock for the majority of it's 25 years and he clearly wanted out, no matter what. Just like plenty of others in the past couple of years. And honestly, who can blame them. Calling him dumb for wanting to move on from a historically bad franchise is pretty stupid. 

He's going to a much better team, with a far better Defense from top to bottom. They have duo play makers at DE, LB and Safety. Besides an injury, he's highly likely going to post the best numbers of his career this year and cash in. It's basically a win-win for him, while this franchise continues to be a laughing stock.

 
OK, so he still took a 6 million pay cut and a shorter deal, if he does not have a good year or gets hurt, he'll cost himself even more down the road.

Don't kid yourself either, it's always directly or indirectly about the money. How quick we are to forget the "I can't feed my kids" bs from his twitter tirades.  

What does 25 years of anything have to do with Yan and playing on 2 million vs taking a 3y/60+ mil deal to settling on 1y/12 mil? You're so miserable in your fandom, just pick another team man.... 15 other teams in the league have an all time win % at or under .500 

This whole saga allegedly stems from being offered a "disrespectful" contract from Tom, which rumors had it the length and money were an issue for Yan's side. That deal would have paid him more this year than what he took, as would the tag. I don't care how you slice it, stupid or not, he objectively took the worst possible offer. While making a very risky/poor decision on his future earnings. 

Its clear his(and your) thinking/hatred for the Jaguars is irrational, and hes certainly within his right to feel that way.  As far as we know, he did objectively chose the worst possible outcome financially for this year. Period.

Totally on point.  Yan giving up that much money makes no sense.  There are no guarantees that he'll get a monster contract next year so he's just passing on $6M out of spite.  I'm personally glad the saga is over and that we'll have more draft capital for next year.  

Rooting for the Vikings to win the SB and get that 3rd rounder!
