It’s these uber talented but immature and mentally weak guys who can’t seem to last here in Jax. I watched Hard Knocks and Jalen is a dumb $$

Speaking of, I'm surprised Dareus isn't back here, especially after the hits we took along the DL earlier.

But it's critical for the coaching staff and front office to figure out how to deal with certain players.  The Steelers and Seahawks have had to let disgruntled players go but were also able to retain great players.  Our front office is inept when it comes to retaining players coming off their rookie contracts.

Most of the players are kids, some of them have some growing up to do and a good coach/gm and environment would help the mature because we spent high picks on them and they have the talent. Blame the front office not the players. Do you not see all the lies and confusion, grievances being filed. Its not the players

I saw him at Publix the other day, he said he 91% sure he was getting traded to the Patriots for a 3rd pick.

The big disadvantage is our market, and the fact that the media spotlight is not as bright in Jax. Sometimes the social setting can be enough of a distraction for these punks that you can still get some return from them up to maybe year 3 & 4. In Jax, the “burn-out rate” if you can call it that, especially for rookies, is much quicker.

I think one way to overcome that now is to pay em more, or have a reputation for paying more. I don’t know if the FO clowns are willing to do that.

Man get real.  They are trading Allen for a 4th and a 2027 6th rounder.  Caldwell is a genius!

Don't worry dude.

Shenault is the fastest man alive and apparently he has great hands
Oliver will comeback and will be the best TE ever
Collin Johnson is another megatron
Chaisson will break the rookie sack record
Luton is the next Brady
It's hilarious because some of the fans here believe that.

Uhhhh, this FO overpaid a lot of guys. I don't know of any team that overpays like this one did under Coughlin the last couple of years. It's impossible that this team doesn't have that reputation already, it's almost a necessity when you consider all the cons working against us.

Add Bouye to the list, he was a pro through and through. I tend to think the bold is the case, add in the 100 grit sandpaper personality that is Tom Coughlin's to the mix and you get the Yann and Ramsey sagas. Head cases with massive, yet frail egos that when challenged, they act like children and demand a trade. Managing modern day frail and manic behavior is very challenging in all aspects of life, not just sports.

Nah man don’t YOU worry, all the rookies will be busts. Khan will sell the team to Oliver in 10 weeks. And Jacksonville will sink in the Atlantic.

This right here.

I for one like the way Coughlin is strict. Yes, he went past what he is allowed to do but i think that had alot to do with the fact he wasn't sure how to handle these young guys. This is 2020, these young men get their feelings hurt and don't know what discipline is. Soon as it gets hard, they want to jet.

You have to win to keep good players, so....

Probably going to end up dealing him.

Winning cures a lot of evils. Also, rewarding/paying deserving players when they are outplaying their rookie deals sends a good organizational message to the players. I hope the team opens up the bank for Chark if he balls this year, even if he has another year left on his deal.

They did it for Telvin Smith during his 4th year right? Boy did that backfire, but we did get a good rest of the 2017 season out of him.

Myles Jack got a nice contract extension too, middle of his 4th year. And how has he produced

Sometimes you can’t blame the Jags for being cheap

Chark and Allen are different though.
While Telvin did behave here you still could kinda see he was a bit "wild" at times.

Agree.  So in essence, sometimes we're cheap and other times were stupid.

Allen is high character (not that others aren't), but it would really be surprising... oh wait, no it wouldn't.
