Howard Stern - XM Radio $120 million per year deal
|
Pretty amazing. I used to listen to him a little while I lived in DC (1990's). A little over the top for me but I need to admit that he sure did get the most of his talents.

I still remember what got him thrown out of DC (on DC101), he called up Air Florida and asked for a 1 way ticket to the 14th street bridge. Yes I was listening that morning

Yes I was listening that morning OMG, I totally forgot about that. By the time I got to DC, the biggest event that I recall was in 1990 when he organized a victory parade in Philly for beating John DeBella in the ratings. Stern began a rivalry with the number one host John DeBella of WMMR, and was determined to beat him in the ratings. He achieved his goal in April 1990, and held a celebratory "funeral" for DeBella on May 10 in Rittenhouse Square which aired live https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Howard_Stern_Show
What is often overlooked because of his antics is how good an interviewer Howard Stern is. He has a way of getting people to open up.
If something can corrupt you, you're corrupted already.
