Whos the pick if TL doesn't declare

#1

As the title says who do you think we pick if TL doesn't declare. I know we all hope he does but I've read several mocks and they all seem to have the confusion happening at the #2 pick because the Jets don't get Lawrence.

So who are you picking or what are you doing with that pick if he doesn't come out?

Yup, hes already graduated, or will be shortly. Had his name announced on Senior day and pretty much said he was ready to take that next step in that Dan Patrick interview. Hes not going back to Clemson, he has nothing left to prove in College.

Everyone, graduated or not gets a do over this year because of Covid. So he could comeback if he wanted to.

I never said he couldn't... I said he isn't.

Go listen to that Dan Patrick interview. It's very telling, he isn't going back to school.

^This. Trevor Lawrence is declaring though. It's a done deal.

What might one expansion team from 1995 give the other expansion team from 1995 for that first overall pick?
Yeah, that's the kind of question I like. What would Trevor Lawrence be worth to the Panthers in his home market? Let's start the bidding at two ones, two twos and next year's four.

For a jump from nine to one to get the best QB in recent memory? A move that would leave the Jaguars looking at Trey Lance or Mac Jones at the best QB left on the board, forcing them to either reach for one of those guys or take a player at a different position and hope for a QB at the Rams pick?

No. Kevin Costner, who we all know was the greatest GM of our time, gave up three first-round picks to jump from seven to one in the era of rookie contracts so massive that the top five picks were in the top five highest-paid players at their position before even taking a snap. I think the bidding starts at three ones, two twos, and a couple of players: one veteran to fill a hole (Bridgewater?) and Corn Elder, because this message board needs a player named Corn.

No deal. How about every pick from their next 4 drafts.

I honestly feel like our new GM will let it be known as soon as he arrives we are not entertaining offers for the first pick.

I hope he doesn't tip his hand that quickly. Always leave the door cracked until people stop calling. You never know if some desperate GM will make you a Ricky Williams offer (or more) that's so good it has to at least be listened to. If, for example, Atlanta called and offered Matt Ryan plus three ones and additional future picks, wouldn't you at least want to continue the conversation and see how much you could milk out of them before slamming the door? Especially if you think Lawrence would eventually want to leave for a bigger market anyway?

The new GM will say what every GM says "we are looking at all possible scenarios and we will listen to all offers" even though there is no way he is trading the pick.

Imo it would take next 4 Panthers 1sts next 2 2nds. Also if he makes the probowl in his 3rd year that is another 2nd, same with the 4th year. If he wins a SB they give us another 1st round pick (2025)

In other words, no trade xD

You don't trade the pick even if they offer you their next 100 straight picks.

This isn't a hard decision. There's no need to try and be cute here. You take Lawrence. End of story.

Yeah. Unless the Chiefs offer us Mahommes, Kelce, and Hill + their next 5 1st rounders.. Thanks but no thanks to any trade offer.
