Kiper has been high on Tagovailoa all season and in December said only his medial report would keep him from being one of the first players taken in 2020. Kiper reiterated that point soon after Tagovailoa's official announcement.
“Grade wise, he’s the bird-best player in my opinion, but the medical part is something we still don’t know until we get through this draft process,” Kiper said. “He had reasons to go back … but remember, Trevor Lawrence next year is guaranteed to be the No. 1 pick overall and then’s there’s the risk of the next injury.
"Hopefully now, he'll get back to 100 percent from the hip and we never have another injury with Tua.”"
