Welp i certainly am not going to feel sorry for the billionaire.  I was thinking about this the other day and wondering how much the combined staff makes in a year.  Is it closer to franchise qb pay, or closer to bortles pay.

Either way the urbs apparently has an open checkbook.  None of my concern go buy us a championship, im down.

Several teams employ specialized coaches under their OC and/or DC that help facilitate running game or passing game.

This is nothing new, nor is it a symbolic position.

Duties that sometimes fall within the scope of a passing game coordinator can include:
doubling as the WR coach
Designing plays for redzone passing and third down passing
Calling pass plays in-game for the above situations
Working closely with the QB coach to translate the players' skillset to effective plays and play calling

He did a really nice job as OC up in Seattle but I'm getting a bit worried with all these hires and these ubiquitous job titles. 

Just seems once again we will not be sure who is and isnt responsible for what.

My understanding is that the Jaguars will not hire a quarterbacks coach.  In this case, I think "passing game coordinator" largely means quarterbacks coach, but is a nicer title to show respect to his experience.  I suspect he may have a little more influence over the weekly offensive plan than the typical quarterbacks coach.  The title also gives him more latitude to give advice to the wide receivers coach or tight ends coach or any other coach that impacts the passing game.  He's an experienced offensive coordinator, so the Jaguars might as well use his experience to their benefit.  I would think of him as the quarterbacks coach.  Anything above and beyond that is a bonus.

That's pretty much 20 coaches per every 1 player on the active roster.  Perhaps that's what Gabbert and Bortles were lacking.

Exactly. There is no salary cap for coaches and training staff. If I'm Khan, I'm paying for the best assistants possible. I am paying them so much that they think twice before leaving for other teams.

Of course, that's what weve been doing the last 3 years apparently. Khan made a big point about accountability and I'm waiting to see the whole staff put together first.

I want QB coach X but I already have an offensive coordinator and the other team will refuse to let me hire him as our QB coach, so create passing game coordinator elevated title and the other team can't refuse since it's technically a promotion.
