You know the guy you're stumping for is only two inches taller right? And considering the whopping difference in leaping ability Rondale probably has a significant catch radius advantage.

That's a pretty big difference, there have been a number of great WRs 5'9.  Can you name one great 5'7 WR?  I can guarantee they won't be throwing jump balls to him lol.  If I get a smaller WR I'm looking for toughnes, durability, route running, hands etc. Elijah to me looks like Antonio Brown with the route running ability, hands, and quickness.  Once again, I like Rondale too but was more of a gadget guy and great return guy that couldn't stay healthy because of his size.

Are 5'7" hamstrings less durable than 5'9" hamstrings? I don't think his size has led to any of his injuries thus far.

He missed games this past season due to injuries as well, it wasn't just the 2019 season.  You still haven't answered my question.  What other great WRs have there been at 5'7"?

I would LOVE this draft.

What would be really fun is if we went all offense with our first 5 picks. And I think there's a chance it might happen. We've spent a lot of resources on the defense in free agency, and I have heard some speculation, I think it was Hays Carlyon, that the Jaguars are planning to go all in with weapons for TL in the draft. The thinking being that the Jags want guys who can grow and develop with Trevor.

This should 100% be the scenario barring a big gap between an offensive and defensive player on the board.

If you’re picking at 25 and a tackle/WR are rated equal to a defensive player, it should be tackle or WR. Go heavy offense in this draft and then heavy D next draft. They signed a lot of guys on defense this off season to help patch up the holes. Lets add some speed and playmakers to this offense.

I'd take 4 offensive players and 1 edge rusher. The Jaguars have little depth at this position unless they moved Jack to the outside. My perfect 5 (in order) are:

1. Lawrence
2. Cosmi
3. Freirmuth
4. Ossai
5. Elijah Moore (may be gone)

If the darft fell this way we should just autoban anyone who complains about it.

I've changed a little:
1. TLaw
2. Bateman
3. Collins/Ojulari
4. Friermuth
5. Nixon/Cicso/Holland

We're clearly rolling with last year's OL so we have the luxury of waiting until next year to make any significant changes there whether that be in Free Agency, Trade, or the Draft.

The more mock simulations I do post FA the more I am taking an EDGE earlier and WR later. I still looooove Rondale and think he would be perfect for our offense, but this WR class is just nuts and we can get a good one with our 3rd or 4th rounder that will still help out quite a bit.

My most common mock now is Tlaw at 1, Ojulari at 25 (or whichever top edge is left), and then OT at 33 (usually Cosmi but sometimes Eichenberg) before branching off into whatever value falls. QB, EDGE, OT top 3 is pretty much always my go to though.

Do you think that's because of the depth of the T class, BAP, that edge is a need, or the lack of other viable positions worth the 25th pick?

I've always believed the best way to turn around a team fast is to turn your weaknesses into strengths.  That means assuming equal value, you take the biggest need.  In the draft, you don't select "offense" or "defense", you draft a specific position.  If the position of biggest need is defense, you don't pass on it to take a lesser need on offense.  In our case, I see our biggest need positions as:

Quarterback
Offensive Tackle
Tight End
Free Safety
Edge

I don't agree with those that put wide receiver super high on the list.  We signed a good receiver in Marvin Jones.  D.J. Chark is one year removed from a pro-bowl.  Shenault was a very promising rookie last year and even rookie Collin Johnson showed potential.  I think the rookies will improve with experience and all returning players will look much better with improved quarterback play.  I know it's a good draft for receivers, so if it's a value thing, that's fine, but I don't have it in our top 5 needs.

I also hope that running back isn't one of those "weapons" that are drafted with any of our first five picks.  We already have a good one in James Robinson.  He played at a near pro-bowl level last year as a rookie.  I want a complimentary speedy running back, but that can be found in the fourth round or later.

Some of all of that, yes. I think this class gets real flat from the ~15-40ish pick range so I'm waiting and taking advantage of the very deep OT and WR classes and taking the best of a thin EDGE class at 25.

There is a school of thought that you can build on strength to improve your team.  The 1984 Giants already had a great set of LBs in a 3-4 with Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson.  But with their top 5 draft pick, they added LB Carl Banks.  Now the Minnesota Vikings were already a playoff team (though not a dominant one) with good WRs when they added WR Randy Moss in 1998.

That said, I generally agree with your overall philosophy here, again assuming equal grades for all of the players involved.

I will say that Meyer has repeatedly expressed a desire to add more speed at WR and maybe RB, so it would not be a shock to see the team add at least one of each in the draft.  In fact, lately I'm getting the sneaky suspicion Travis Etienne is on the radar at 25-33.
