How could any reasonable person think anything was gonna change with him? It doesn't say much for the judgement of our new coaching staff.

No.  His rookie year he didn't have Warhop.

I keep forgetting his name (edit:  Pat Flaherty), but he had the OL coach before him.  Warhop didn't come aboard until after the 2018 season when everything went to crap.  Marrone made changes to the coaching staff I wasn't crazy about.  Getting rid of Flaherty was one of those changes.

That doesn't really change the fact that Robinson is now, what he has always been. He's still the same slow-footed guy he has always been. I don't see that ever changing.

Does anyone on our team get resigned before FA starts? I was hoping we resign Sidney Jones

My guess is a couple are signed early next week.  That's when teams can talk (but not sign) free agents from other teams.  They probably want to get a feel for what the players on other teams are asking prior to deciding who of our existing players to sign and for how much.

we'll know of some interest next Monday.. likely Tuesday or who they are after.

They cannot announce it officially but 'they've agreed to a deal in principle' nonsense will be posted all over social media.

The thing about that is you risk losing them to another team

Not if we want a quality group of WR's.

UDFA's are UDFA's for a reason.

Quality UDFA's are very few and far in between.

Hurns is the only WR I can think of that we hit on as an UDFA  and we sign multiple every year.

Cole was undrafted as well.

I would like to see him back if possible. He would be coming in as the number 3 or 4 receiver and return specialist though. Is he looking for a bigger role?

Conley and Westbrook probably would not take what I would offer, but I think both are worth offering some sort of extension.

I wouldn't necessarily call Cole a hit. He has played better than most UDFAs but he definitely isn't a reliable player.

He has a good game here and there, but almost completely disappears for stretches of games.

I like Sidney Jones, but he was placed on IR with the achilles issue coming into play again.  If the injury checks out, I can see them signing Sidney on another 1 year minimal deal, pegging him as a key depth piece (not rely upon him as a starter).  In this cap constrained environment for most teams and the injury history, I don't think he'll received any much better offers.

Shatley, Smoot, and Hayden would not surprise me to be re-signed, but likely after free agency begins (and they come cheaper when no bigger money materializes).

Just saw that KC cut Eric Fisher. I know he's got a torn Achilles tendon, but if the price were right, and his prognosis was decent, should we take a chance on him?

Shatley and Smoot I would like to re-sign but we could find much cheaper/better options than Hayden. His play has deteriorated badly.

If healthy, he'd be a big upgrade.

I'd love to make a run for Kenny Golladay and Hunter Henry.

I don’t see why all the love for Hunter Henry. He can’t block and he will give you what any $2 TE in the league will give you.

I just ain’t seeing it.

1. One of TE, Henry or Smith is MUST!
2. Johnson at S, Jenkins at CB would be nice.
3. Carson at RB would be a good get.
4. Bring that JuJu Smith-Schuster up in here!!! Cmon!

who you want then? Jessie James is available?

Pitts isn't happening... next best is Jonnu and Henry... after that its significantly garbage.

These are highlights from the "Jaguars Happy Hour" radio show...

1. It seems lots of people will have input as to which players are brought in. Assistant/position coaches will have influence. So I would think if they have coached a player in the past and they liked what the player offers, they may push for that player. Baalke and his staff will also make recommendations. Ryan Stamper, a Jacksonville native who was recently brought aboard, will ascertain whether players are "culture fits."

2. Baalke said he had permission from Shad Khan to "spend to the cap," and they have plans to do so on a "three year rolling basis." Lageman said it doesn't necessarily mean they WILL spend to the cap. They are still looking for value where they can get it. This is seemingly a departure from the years where we were coming out of cap hell, and the team was obsessed with having room to maneuver.

3. Lageman had good things to say about Cam RObinson, but identified footwork as his primary issue. My thing is Warhop has been his position coach for two seasons. Why haven't those footwork issues been fixed. Lageman also said the thinking was that the team struggled to protect in obvious passing situations, and that if the team were more competitive, there would be fewer obvious passing situations, that would result in ;ess pressure on the QB. As for the rest of the OL, Lageman indicated he was surprised like we were about the Norwell news, but he was saying Norwell has performed very well the last two years. He also said backup C would need to be addressed because Shatley is a free agent, and that Linder can't be relied upon to stay healthy for 16 games.

4. Lageman thinks Baalke is right about the RB room, and that James Robinson was good last year, but they need to add some explosiveness to the depth, and that adding explosiveness was not limited to the WR position. As for WR, Lageman emphasized Chark has to improve. Collin Johnson does a good job of getting separation.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

it's a speculative deal. late season injury, age, and nature of the injury all lean me in the direction of "no".

it sucks for him, but he's never been an OT that I would say is top of the game, someone I need on my roster to say we are in good shape. Getting hurt when he did really hurt his chances of getting a lucrative deal with another team.
