Upgraded DB Position

Griffin is one of the best number 2 corners in the league. Before he was going against the other teams number 1, now he can lock down WR 2 while CJ locks down WR1

Stop gap CB and DL room. WR is the only position group that is not suspect.

If you consider 3 years a stop gap.  We just signed another teams top corner 25 yes old, not sure if he's a stop gap

Kyle Fuller just got released... now he'd really make the CB room wonderful. Just don't think we do it at this point.

That team had the 2nd worst pass defense in the NFL last year.

Personally, I like Fuller over any of the CB's we currently have.

That's what happens when you don't have a pass rush.  Why do you think pass rushers are so coveted. You can have the best corners in the league but if you have no pass rush it doesn't matter

You can't blame that entirely on the pass rush. The lack of pass rushers played a part, but the secondary played a part as well.

"That team" just like you said, it's a team game. There's other people in that Secondary and on that Defense besides Griffin.

Adams was arguably their best pass rusher as a Safety... He had the most Sacks on that Defense and just as many QB hits as Dunlap and Reed. He also had more pressures than both of them as well. Lack of pass rush, poor players around him (Griffin), among plenty of other factors account for a "Team" stat.

Played a part?  It played a huge part, why do you think they were looking for pass rushers all season?  Lol.  Griffin is 25 and a former pro bowler.  I'd like to see what he could do with a little bit of pass rush in front of him

The secondary in Seattle played a huge part as well. There was plenty of blame to go around. I just was not impressed with any of the FA corners that hit the market. I thought they were all pretty average.

You would think some of the posters on here would be a bit reserved in their harsh judgment of a corner after a lot of them took such a hard line stance on how much DJ Hayden and Sidney Jones sucked when the Jaguars signed them.

I don't remember anyone saying Sidney Jones sucked. His entire issue has been staying off I.R. When he is healthy, he's always been a good corner.

This guy played much more than expected last year and seemed to really take to the coaching that he received.  I thought that he was drafted to be a KR/PR, but he got a lot of reps as an outside CB last year seemingly passing up both Josiah Scott and Luq Barcoo on the depth chart.  At 5’9 and 179 he never shied away from contact and always stuck his nose in the action.  I am very intrigued to see how this young man develops as his experience and technique improve as he has 2 elite traits in his speed and his pain threshold. These traits make him a nice piece of clay to mold into a viable NFL developmental prospect.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

Neither do I. Sidney was literally our best CB last season and he has the stats to prove it. I see him as our Nickel back to say the least.
