1. Jacksonville Jaguars- Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
2. New York Jets- Zach Wilson, QB, BYU  Though I like Wilson, I can't shake the feeling that the jets not keeping Darnold and trading back is a mistake.
3. San Francisco 49’ers (Via Mia Via Hou)- Mac Jones, QB, Alabama -Not entirely sold on this pick, either.  Not a knock on you, but for the 49ers if this is their pick.
4. Atlanta Falcons- Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida-Have a lot of great options at this slot.
5. Cincinnati Bengals- Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon-To me, the only pick for them to make.
6. Miami Dolphins (Via Phi)- Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU
7. Detroit Lions- DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama-The draft's first enigma, though this pick makes sense
8. Carolina Panthers- Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern-This tells me Greg little was a bust.
9. Denver Broncos- Justin Fields, QB, OSU
10. Dallas Cowboys- Patrick Surtain, CB, Alabama
11. New York Giants- Micah Parsons, OLB, Penn State
12. Philadelphia Eagles (Via Mia Via SF)- Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama-This is a team that could use a ton of help.  Not sure what happened to this organization.
13. L.A. Chargers- Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech
14. Minnesota Vikings- Jaelan Phillips, DE, Miami (Fla.)
15. New England Patriots- Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
16. Arizona Cardinals- Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
17. Las Vegas Raiders- Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
18. Miami Dolphins- Kwity Paye, DE/OLB, Michigan
19. Washington Football Team- Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State This pick would give the WFT a great right side...but it would disappoint the hell out of me as a Jaguars fan.
20. Chicago Bears- Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas
21. Indianapolis Colts- Liam Eichenburg, OT, Notre Dame
22. Tennessee Titans- Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
23. New York Jets (Via Sea)- Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
24. Pittsburgh Steelers- Alijah Vera-Tucker, OT/OG, USC-Picks 19-21 and this pick represent the run I long feared would happen.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars (Via LAR)- Zaven Collins, ILB, Tulsa-Disappointed OL not addressed, but this would be a great addition to our LB corps.
26. Cleveland Browns- Gregory Rousseau, DE, Miami (Fla.)
27. Baltimore Ravens- Terrace Marshall, WR, LSU
28. New Orleans- Levi Onwuzurike, DT, Washington
29. Green Bay Packers- Azeez Ojulari, OLB, Georgia
30. Buffalo Bills- Carlos Basham Jr., DE, Wake Forest
31. Kansas City Chiefs- Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State
32. Tampa Bay Bucs- Christian Barmore, DE/DT, Alabama

Round 2

33. Jacksonville Jaguars- Joseph Ossai, DE/OLB, Texas-Would be so so with this pick.  Decent player, premium position, but represents massive over investment
34. New York Jets- Greg Newsome, CB, Northwestern
35. Atlanta Falcons- Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson-After their first two picks, the Atlanta offense would be absolute hell, in a good way.  Their defense, however, would be absolute hell, in a bad way
36. Miami Dolphins (Via Hou)- Creed Humphrey, C, Oklahoma
37. Philadelphia Eagles- Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State-Could easily see this happening and it would hurt.
38. Cincinnati Bengals- Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
39. Carolina Panthers- Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB/S, Notre Dame
40. Denver Broncos- Jamin Davis, ILB, Kentucky -This pick makes a ton of sense.
41. Detroit Lions- Jabril Cox, ILB, LSU-So does this one.
42. New York Giants- Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida
43. San Francisco 49’ers- Asante Samuel Jr., CB, Florida State

50. Miami Dolphins- Javonte Williams, RB, North Carolina
51. Washington Football Team- Kyle Trask, QB, Florida
52. Chicago Bears- Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue-They are trying to trade away Anthony Miller.

54. Tennessee Titans- Jayson Oweh, DE/OLB, Penn State
55. Seattle Seahawks- Jackson Carman, OG/OT, Clemson-Smart to prepare for life after Duane Brown
56. Pittsburgh Steelers- Landon Dickerson, C/OG, Alabama could very easily see this.  Steelers emphasize C position.  They drafted Dermontti Dawson in the 2nd round in 1988.
57. L.A. Rams- Jevon Holland, S, Oregon
58. Baltimore Ravens- Spencer Brown, OT, Northern Iowa-I thought he was North Carolina.  makes a ton of sense.  Where does Orlando Brown Jr go?
59. Cleveland Browns-
Jaylen Twyman, DT, Pitt

60. New Orleans Saints- Elijah Moore, WR, Mississippi -Great fit.
61. Buffalo Bills- Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia-As if the Bills needed another good DB!  To me, the Bills are the AFC Super Bowl favorites-nauseating though that may be.
62. Green Bay Packers- Quinn Meinerz, OG/C, Wisconsin-Whitewater
63. Kansas City Chiefs- Kelvin Joseph, CB, Kentucky
64. Tampa Bay Bucs- Davis Mills, QB, Stanford

77. L.A. Chargers- Hunter Long, TE, Boston College
78. Minnesota Vikings- D’ante Smith, OT, ECU-If I am running the Vikes, I don't wait until the 3rd round to address LT, especially since I have no 2nd round pick.
79. Las Vegas Raiders (Via Ari)- Baron Browning, LB, OSU
80. Las Vegas Raiders- Deonte Brown, OG, Alabama =Traded away Trent Brown due to weight issues.  Why add another one?  OL makes sense...but not him.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars- Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
2. New York Jets- Zach Wilson, QB, BYU  Though I like Wilson, I can't shake the feeling that the jets not keeping Darnold and trading back is a mistake.
3. San Francisco 49’ers (Via Mia Via Hou)- Mac Jones, QB, Alabama -Not entirely sold on this pick, either.  Not a knock on you, but for the 49ers if this is their pick.
4. Atlanta Falcons- Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida-Have a lot of great options at this slot.
5. Cincinnati Bengals- Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon-To me, the only pick for them to make.
6. Miami Dolphins (Via Phi)- Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU
7. Detroit Lions- DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama-The draft's first enigma, though this pick makes sense
8. Carolina Panthers- Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern-This tells me Greg little was a bust.
9. Denver Broncos- Justin Fields, QB, OSU
10. Dallas Cowboys- Patrick Surtain, CB, Alabama
11. New York Giants- Micah Parsons, OLB, Penn State
12. Philadelphia Eagles (Via Mia Via SF)- Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama-This is a team that could use a ton of help.  Not sure what happened to this organization.
13. L.A. Chargers- Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech
14. Minnesota Vikings- Jaelan Phillips, DE, Miami (Fla.)
15. New England Patriots- Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
16. Arizona Cardinals- Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
17. Las Vegas Raiders- Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
18. Miami Dolphins- Kwity Paye, DE/OLB, Michigan
19. Washington Football Team- Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State This pick would give the WFT a great right side...but it would disappoint the hell out of me as a Jaguars fan.
20. Chicago Bears- Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas
21. Indianapolis Colts- Liam Eichenburg, OT, Notre Dame
22. Tennessee Titans- Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
23. New York Jets (Via Sea)- Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
24. Pittsburgh Steelers- Alijah Vera-Tucker, OT/OG, USC-Picks 19-21 and this pick represent the run I long feared would happen.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars (Via LAR)- Zaven Collins, ILB, Tulsa-Disappointed OL not addressed, but this would be a great addition to our LB corps.
26. Cleveland Browns- Gregory Rousseau, DE, Miami (Fla.)
27. Baltimore Ravens- Terrace Marshall, WR, LSU
28. New Orleans- Levi Onwuzurike, DT, Washington
29. Green Bay Packers- Azeez Ojulari, OLB, Georgia
30. Buffalo Bills- Carlos Basham Jr., DE, Wake Forest
31. Kansas City Chiefs- Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State
32. Tampa Bay Bucs- Christian Barmore, DE/DT, Alabama

Round 2

33. Jacksonville Jaguars- Joseph Ossai, DE/OLB, Texas-Would be so so with this pick.  Decent player, premium position, but represents massive over investment
34. New York Jets- Greg Newsome, CB, Northwestern
35. Atlanta Falcons- Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson-After their first two picks, the Atlanta offense would be absolute hell, in a good way.  Their defense, however, would be absolute hell, in a bad way
36. Miami Dolphins (Via Hou)- Creed Humphrey, C, Oklahoma
37. Philadelphia Eagles- Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State-Could easily see this happening and it would hurt.
38. Cincinnati Bengals- Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
39. Carolina Panthers- Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB/S, Notre Dame
40. Denver Broncos- Jamin Davis, ILB, Kentucky -This pick makes a ton of sense.

43. San Francisco 49’ers- Asante Samuel Jr., CB, Florida State

51. Washington Football Team- Kyle Trask, QB, Florida

My comments in teal.

Again...good work.

Thanks. Like I said, it's not what I would do, It's what I believe the team will do. I'm not really a fan of what I have predicted in round 2, especially. Without hesitation, I'd take Jamin Davis and Spencer Brown in those slots. That way I could keep Collins on the outside, have Davis on the inside and pickup a RT in Brown, that I have rated much higher than Mayfield. Davis in particular, is a player I like more and more as the draft approaches.

I would also take Dyami Brown at the top of round 3. He would give us another deep threat, along with Chark.

I take Safety Jamar Johnson and stick with Kenny Yeboah for our 4th round picks. I really like Johnson and Yeboah is the kind of TE that plays more like a WR. He has great hands and can stretch plays.

I'm also a fan of Gainwell at the top of round 5. He has excellent speed and hands and would be the ideal compliment to Robinson for the run game, but I would take OT Josh Ball with our next pick. He's a little raw, but I really liked what I saw from him last season and I see a lot of potential as a Swing Tackle.

Finally, with the last pick, I would take a guy I see flying under the radar. P.J. Burkhalter of Nicholls State. He was an FCS All-American in 2019 and has played both OG and Center. What little I can find of him was impressive. You pretty much have to find Nicholls State video and just focus on where he lines up. He was dominant against the guys he faced. As a 7th rounder, I think he's definitely worth a look.

As for Cincinnati, I agree. Sewell has to be the choice. Jonah Williams is solid, but Reiff is only a one year rental and they already have two good receivers in Boyd and Higgins. Sewell makes too much sense. You plug him in at LT, move Williams to LG, Reiff plays RT and when Reiff is gone, Williams moves to RT. The Bengals get Bateman in round 2, to stretch the field and they still have the #1 OT. In round 3, I get the more O-Line help with Leatherwood. I see him as an OG. He plugs right into the RG position and now, all they need to find is a halfway competent Center and the O-Line is complete.

To be clear, my preference would be a mostly offensive draft, but it would not surprise me at all to see a predominantly defensive draft.  I suspect Meyer is more of a defensive guy than I may have initially thought.  It also wouldn't surprise me that in executing that primarily defensive draft, that OLB/edge rusher would be an early target.  I have not been shy about how I like Collins.  But the Collins/Ossai combination at 25 and 33 is too much.  Though I think Collins has all of the attributes needed to play ILB well, he considers himself an OLB, and ultimately I am unsure how that mindset would impact his play.   Then to follow that up with Ossai at 33 would be way too much at that position-3 first round picks and the highest possible 2nd rounder since 2019.  That with no other expenditures on offense would be too much.  I would probably rant against that for a while.  If we went offense at either 25 or 33, and took Collins at one or the other positions, then came back with an edge in the 4th-5th round, that would be less of a shock to the system.  Hopefully Cullen and Orr will help identify viable candidates.

Davis seems to have come out of nowhere (insert Kentucky joke here), scarcely being mentioned at all by anybody to being on the tips of everyone's tongues the closer we get to the draft. Not knocking you or anyone else.  It's just what happens this time of year.  But it speaks well of the current state of the Kentucky program that it could produce guys like Allen and him in two of the last three drafts.

I really like Dyami Brown.  I think he could be a huge asset for this team.  Heck I even said he reminded me of Jimmy Smith in his style of play.  But my own gut feeling is that UM is looking for more of a Jack of all trades type.  If he takes Dyami Brown, that solidifies Shenault and Marvin Jones as the slot WRs.

I would prefer Sermon to Gainwell, but I like Gainwell and agree with your take here.

As far as the Bengals are concerned my questioning of the Leatherwood pick isn't based on any bad value.  I think he is good value there.  But given Williams, Reiff and Sewell, I think their OL is plenty good at that point.  In a worst case scenario, you plug Reiff in at G.  Even if you consider him a temporary patch at the position, Reiff and Sewell combined buy the Bengals time.  But as I type this, I realize this may be a touch of jealousy on my part because it represents the kind of investment in the OL I hope the Jaguars would make.

Admittedly I have no clue about Burkhalter.

One last point of clrification:  I commented that I think less and less of Gettlemen the more I think about his stint with the Giants.  But I made the comment at the Smith pick from Tennessee.  I would love that pick and would like him here.  He is a dominant player.

The interior of the Bengals O-Line was every bit as bad, if not worse than the RT position was last year. There is not a single O-Lineman from last year's Bengals team, other than Williams that I would even think about starting on that O-Line in 2021. They were atrocious and as much as I gripe about our own O-Line, our interior is pretty decent. In fact, our interior looks like a bunch of pro-bowlers compared to the Bengals. I wouldn't even call any of their interior guys "serviceable" at this point. They are more like turnstiles. Something has to be done.

Nice work and effort. Just for kicks if the draft fell like that, and if I were Jags GM, I would take:

1. QB Trevor Lawrence ...finally a franchise play caller for the next decade plus.
1. DT Christian Barmore ...needed to upgrade the interior DL, and get closer to Meyer's goal of top 1/4 in league.
2. OT Jalen Mayfield ...starting level OT and can play OG for now if desired, not waiting to later pick.
2. DE/LB Jayson Oweh ...athletic freak with very high ceiling with development, Chaisson rotation.
3. OT Walker Little ...year ago he was projected as a 1st round pick, LOT with very high upside.
4. RB Michael Carter ...love his versatile play and takes 3rd down role immediately.
4. TE Tommy Tremble ...athletic TE, good blocker and upside passing.
5. SS Talanoa Hufanga ...loved watching him on USC games, likes to hit and productive.
5. DT Marlon Tuipulotu ...good rotational value here.
7. TE Quintin Morris ...converted WR with good catch/route skills, blocking needs work.

Pretty good haul there.  We'd get our QB, depth and possible upgrades along the OL, two TEs, RB, depth and a possible upgrade at edge rusher and a better value at 45 than at 25.  We wouldn't get the speed at WR UM values, but a good haul overall.

LOL. True. All my friends are Bengals fans, so their bad luck always gives me something to fire back with when they rag on the Jaguars. Seriously though, I really hope they don't screw up this draft and pass on Sewell. They've waited a long time to get a good QB (as have we) and I don't want to see Burrow's career shortened like Andrew Luck's was, due to not providing him with adequate protection.

Again, great effort to put this together. I could accept or justify all of the picks made, none leave a sour taste in the mouth. Ossai might be the one I'd second guess if the board fell this way. I also wonder if Morris has more upside than Eubanks, but it's probably a matter of who has the higher floor in picking Eubanks.

Thanks. Personally, I'm not a fan at all of either of the 2nd round picks. It's just how I see the draft going.

When I look back at Bengals history (at least as I know it as a non Bengals fan), their best teams were always characterized by good to great offensive lines.  In the 80s, it was guys like Munoz, Kozerski, and Blados.  Later in the early 2000s, they had Levi Jones, Steinback and Willie Anderson.  It's interesting how often they let their OL go to crap within that historical context.

Exactly. That is why Sewell has to be the pick. They have an urgent need on the O-Line and Sewell is the best LT to enter the draft since Tyron Smith. Yes, there are great receiving options as well, but the Bengals have pretty good receivers in Higgins and Boyd and this WR class is so deep, they can find a speedster in the 2nd round to compliment the guys they have. The OT class on the other hand, is top heavy and what you might find in round 2 should be far less than what you would get if you drafted Sewell. Ideally, the Bengals should leave this draft with Sewell and another interior lineman that they could start right away. All things being equal, a Center would be perfect, but an OG would fit in as well.
