Stop Forcing It To Yeldon/Lee

#21

Quote:In a way, you made my point. Im not blaming Lee for the screens, thats what we call forcing it to him. The coaching staff has made him priority number 1 in the passing game. Its all a game plan, the screens, game planed. Lee is being force fed the ball, they are committed to the run game early on and then setting that up with the pass. Robinson is a ghost under this new game plan, as well as taking out Blakes scrambling ability, our offense has been exposed.

Yes, they are forcing it to Lee, no, its not his fault, hes a decent player, but you have got to get the ball to your great players. Robinson, Hurns and Thomas.

I disagree.  On the plays that Lee is being passed to downfield, Blake is making the decision not the coaches.  He's not "priority #1." That's strictly your perception.  The screens to him actually aren't a bad idea in my opinion. They are just horribly executed and called at inopportune times.

Are they running too much early?  Yes.  Should they be hitting that back shoulder to A-Rob play more? Absolutely.  They targeted Hurns a LOT yesterday BTW in case you didn't notice. Thomas was WELL involved also.

None of this means they are forcing Lee into the game plan. The offense executed very poorly and Blake made a lot of mistakes. I think your emphasis on Lee is misplaced.

I think they have a big game plan for Lee. The offense does not feel like last season and it does feel forced. I will agree with you that Blake made some terrible throws and that is not Marquis Lee's fault. I do think they are targeting him too much and I dont think they are throwing to our weapons enough. I think taking Bortles ability to scramble away is also a mistake.

Good news, its early enough to where these things can be corrected.
