Bold Predictions?

#1

A lot of people here may think i'm crazy.. but for me, my bold prediction is that Shenault becomes our clear cut #1 WR. Something about this kid gets me so excited. I love Chark but he's had one good season, 1 horrible season, and one meh. Marvin Jones has potential to be our best WR aswell this year but he's getting up there in age.

Whats your bold predictions for this season?

If Lawrence is the real deal and gets average or better protection this offense could squeak into the top ten in the league in 2021.

That’s about as bold as I’ll get. Great potential on offense.

Shenault will play a major role. Doesn’t matter who the #1 receiver is. They have three very different players atop the depth chart. They should be utilized thusly. Not by some ranking.

Defensively - there is potential but also TONS of question marks. Can’t predict anything just yet there.

It’s Clark’s room if he wants it. Urban wants him to add some weight which could slow him down. LS already has the body type Urban wants.

Asking Chark to add some weight wasn't about making every receiver have the same body type.

It was about watching Chark's tape and seeing opportunities for him to fight back to the ball more than he was.  His ball tracking is top tier, but he's not always physical about going to get it when contested. He has a more sly/stealthy approach. The added upper body strength will enhance the ability to compete physically for contested balls.

Shenault has a unique skill set.

Chark has a unique skill set.

Jones has a unique skill set.

There is no need to homogenize them and it would in fact be counter productive.

1) Jaguars get their first official tie.
2) Jaguars get their first All Pro on offense since 2011.
3) Jaguars force more than 25 turnovers.
4) Jaguars get a combination of 5 kick/punt return TD's and blocked FG/punts.

Chark actually got faster when he added weight.

Hmm, lot of good predictions here. Mine is the NFL welcome both Urban and TL to professional big boy sports early on in the season. However they learn from the experiences and rally back as the season progresses finishing strong.

I have a few:

1) We blow out the Texans Week 1, just like in 2017.
2) We beat the Titans in Nashville to snap the streak of not winning there in a few seasons; we also beat the Colts at home to extend our streak of beating them at home to 5-6 seasons
3) Lawrence will get screwed out of Rookie of the Year, he'll deserve it but because the NY and large market media are still salty about him not landing with the Jets (hope this one isn't true though)
4) Jags win in London
5) Jags are in the Wildcard hunt in December
Championship Formula:

1) Draft Trevor Lawrence!
2) Play good physical Defense!
3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy!
4) ???
5) Blank #2
6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Yeah I know he didn’t ask every WR to have the same body type. Not sure why you told me that.

We're playing meaningful games later in the season...like October.

We only lose 1 divisional game all season.
The coaching staff is a noticeable and significant upgrade. Players noticeable improve.
Defence makes a huge stride due to scheme and playing with leads. Finishes in the top 15 in points allowed.
Etienne makes the pro bowl
Walker Little starts at LT from week 6

Jags keep 5 tight ends on the final roster, one of them is Tebow.  Five because Tebow will not be a traditional TE, and will be a work-in-progress on his ability to back up the TE on any play in the playbook (so they'll keep four others).  He will specialize in formations where he lines up as an H back, and special teams as punt protector.

Is he eligible for the practice squad?

Can’t risk putting him there and another team snatching him up!

He is not eligible (veteran status). And that would be inconsistent, in my view, with his potential. Tebow will never "develop" into a tight end that you couldn't find right now at age 23 somewhere. He is a goal line specialist, 4th down specialist. The whole point is to find a place to stick him on the roster so he can help you with he's good at. Practice players don't dress out for games.

Unless/until they change the practice squad rules back to the way the were before covid, everybody is eligible for the practice squad.

My bold prediction is we sweep the stinking tacks. That would be pleasant.
