Because the MSM is on his side. As long as he toes the line, he's protected.

Garcetti, on the other hand, chose to defy the leftist movement in a bid to at least assuage himself to the moderates. His home was vandalized. After Cuomo sees this he'll have the homeless sleeping in the foyer of the state capitol.
